The sick man sighed. Might as well get this over with...

: "I am - was - what you might call a hired thug. I specialize in sneaking around and stealing things, though I am not unaccustomed to...dirty work." He coughed for a few seconds before continuing.

: "If anyone has any objections to traveling with an admitted criminal, best say it now."

Still tailing the group quietly,
" Crossbow and horse riding is my skills. If we are heading out i need to go get my horse."

"If you aren't planning to do it while we work together, it doesn't bother me." Kain grinned. In truth, such talents might be useful, in the right time and place.

Atrisse smiled nervously at Harlan.

"A-as long as you d-don't object to t-traveling with a p-possessed w-w-w-witch or a c-c-crazy person. E-everyone s-says I am, a-anyway..."

"...Is there some reason they'd say that? And more to the point, why you'd tell us? That's the sort of subject I'd avoid."

"It w-was bound to come out e-eventually, and L-Lalanis always says it's best to be h-honest. I-I h-have talent with b-black magic, y-you see...."

She just kinda trails off, looking somewhat ashamed, as half the Others yell at her for being so stupid, and the other half shout back at them for distracting the girl while she's trying to help them.

[Sirus]

"If you aren't planning to do it while we work together, it doesn't bother me." Kain grinned. In truth, such talents might be useful, in the right time and place.

: "Well, I hope you'll forgive this one indiscretion." Harlan held up a bag of medicine that had until a few moments ago been hanging from the other man's belt, before tossing it back. "Call it a demonstration."

Atrisse smiled nervously at Harlan.

"A-as long as you d-don't object to t-traveling with a p-possessed w-w-w-witch or a c-c-crazy person. E-everyone s-says I am, a-anyway..."

Harlan shrugged.
:"Unless you're the type to mutilate small animals because they make fun of you, I doubt you're worse than some of the company I've kept in the past."

Kain raised an eyebrow as he caught the package of vulnerary. "Hmph. Well, I can't say you're not skilled, obviously."

[Sirus]

: "Relax. Even in my worst days I was never stupid enough to steal from employers or co-workers. Where I come from, that sort of thing often leads to getting a stone tied around your ankles before being tossed into the nearest body of water."
His voice had grown steadily more wheezy as he talked, and he took a gulp of ale in response.

"A-are you alright? Y-you seem...unwell..."

She looked guilty at that; long years of being accused of causing such ailments in those she was around meant that she had to wonder if they weren't true, sometimes.

[Sirus]

Harlan first shot a look at his brother, warning the younger man to keep his mouth shut. Then he smiled and shook his head slightly.
: "I fell ill a few months ago. I am...not fully recovered yet. Still mostly fit though."

Clive had stood, walking past the other mercenaries as they talked, sparing only a moment to reply to Harold.
: "You could say that." He stated offhandedly as he walked out to the inn's floor, leaving the rest.

The din outside continued on as the mercenaries talked. Suddenly, with a loud crack, the door into the hall swung open. Clive entered along with the portly bouncer, who was carrying multiple bags in his arms.
"Where you need 'em?"

: "On the table, thank you." The portly bouncer set the large bags down, and extended his arm over to Clive with a grin. The cloaked man contorted his face a little, but pulled out and pressed a coin into the bouncer's hand, and he set right off outside the inn again. Clive only shook his head before turning to the rest, "Take a bag, if you can. Horses can't navigate sands easily. I have a carriage to take us to the outskirts, but from there we move on foot." Clive explained in quick order before hoisting a bag over his shoulder and walking outside, heedless of the other's reactions.

"O-oh...w-well, I h-hope you get better, th-then."

Her cheeks turn somewhat pink and she looks at her hands in her lap, quiet once more as the Others debate the best course of action. They finally shut up when Davis reminds them all(in his shouting voice) that they've already gotten themselves set on this course of action, so maybe they could all bloody well shut up some of us are trying to sleep over here.

When the bags came in and her new employer instructed her to grab one, she stood up unsteadily, and decided she may as well try...

[Sirus]

: "He's not much for small talk, is he?" Harlan remarked to no one in particular as he shouldered one of the heavy bags. Thankfully the disease had not affected his muscles at all, and he could bear the weight well enough.

Kain stood and grabbed his blade and one of the bags without further comment.
