For anyone interested, I made a progress bar for df-structures, updating daily @0001UTC and whenever I log on and run the script.  Green=verified, yellow=aligned, red=unchecked.  Currently for 42.02, but I'll try to keep it up to date.  Sized for sigs or whatever, so feel free to use/hotlink.

Maybe add some markers to it so we can actually see it inching forward day by day? Like, one little line every 10 pixels or so, across the top 1/4th of the height.

would be cool. :>
I would really like to help - is this alot of brainless work anyone with visual studio at hand can do? If so, would it make sense for you guys to make a little tutorial on how to participate?

It takes more effort than that, but identifying problems usually helpful. Once we have .03 offsets available (they're incomplete right now), you can build DFHack and inspect various things in the lua interpreter or gui/gm-editor and find things that are incorrect or crash.
Also, those numbers are individual structures, not individual files.

There was a typo in the siegers' campfire code. When the fires went out, so did the game.

Sadly the necessary skill level for most of the work updating is quite high. Only Quietust and Angavrilov can do the hard stuff.

I have done some data layout research before (writing a save editor for an old game), but nothing on the scale of DFHack, and nothing with live programs... It is fairly complicated to learn, but once you know how it is mostly just tedious, very tedious.

And Armok help us if they ever decide to stop working on it.

I’ve done some research on conversation structures. What is the best way to get it into df-structures? (I don’t want to make a pull request because the structures are more complex than I know how to express in XML.)

Open an issue in df-structures, I guess.

Should be https://github.com/DFHack/dfhack/releases/tag/0.40.24-r5

Edit: changed back to match other releases - both links should work now.

Yes, which other renderers work/don't work?

Are there any others than light and trippy? Still not sure what you mean I should test.

Yes, there are others listed by running "rendermax", "rendermax help", or "help rendermax" - try "truecolor" and "lua".

So does anyone have a ballpark estimate on how long it will be till dfhack updates? I not looking for a date I just want to have a rough idea if it isn't too much trouble.
