With a flick of her blade to shake off excess blood, Lian slides her sword back into its sheath.
: "Well, that was fun while it lasted."

With a sigh, Aneira unstrung her bow and rubbed a hand across her eyes.

"I probably should have finished off that bandit who's brother I killed. I suspect that might come back to haunt me in the end. Ah well, at least the battle is over for now."

:"If anyone is still wounded, I can bring you back to top condition! But I suggest everyone get some rest anyway."

Aneira grinned at Alexios and stretched.

"Eh, seems like most of us are in pretty good shape. Not like they were an especially hard fight. Also resting's boring. Especially when we seem to have gained a companion."

Pointing at Edward with an arrow, she continued,

"You were with the boss, so you must be a friend. What's your name and why'd you join up with us?"

[F.O.E.]

Edward quickly glanced over to Geoffrey who sighed and nodded his head, apparently knowing what he was being asked.

"My name is Edward and I'm the son of a very prosperous Itolan merchant. I'm currently here hoping to get some goods flowing into Sarles, at the very least from Itola. Once I'm done here I plan to head west to expand my father's trade network and for that I need protection, what with the war still raging and all that. I was discussing hiring Godhand when those bandits attacked and, upon hearing Geoffrey say you were short some members, decided to lend a hand.

"Was that answer satisfactory?"

It may have been your imagination, but he seemed to be asking Geoffrey, rather than you.

Feeling the rejuvenating touch of the heal staff so many times, Ekul felt extremely healthy.

  "Thanks Hilde!"

With the fighting over, Ekul remembered he had something to do and headed to the inn. Not before saying...

  "Guys, I'll be at the inn. Got a kid to feed. Also boss, I think the kid's the one you sent me and Gorog to look out for."

Martyn shakes a bit of gore from his spear, retrieving a stained cloth from somewhere on his person in order to wipe away the last of the bandit blood.

"Hmph."

The spear rests on his shoulder once more as the fighting ends and the others settle down from combat.  The spearman takes his time to reexamine the young merchant, watching him silently until he finishes speaking.

"And, Geoffrey?  Were you planning to accept his offer?"

Raising an eyebrow slightly, Aneira shrugged.

"Doesn't really seem like you care about my opinion. But seems to make sense I guess."

[F.O.E.]

"Whatever gave you that impression?" Edward asked, seemingly confused.

Geoffrey answered Ekul in his no nonsense attitude.

"If that's the case make sure he doesn't leave your sight, Ekul. Kids like that make you think they've turned over a new leaf but give them an opening and they'll rob you blind."

Geoffrey sighed at Martyn's question, almost appearing reluctant to answer.

"No, Martyn, I didn't accept. If we bail out now we lose more than money, we lose our pride and our reputation. This town needs us and we'll stay until they don't. No matter how much we're offered."
