:"Girly? Hey..."
Alexios sighs and moves to follow Aneira.

"Well we'll look real dumb if they attack somewhere else we're supposed to be keeping an eye on. 'Course, if you want to join, you may as well."

Aneira shrugged and headed out of the inn.

Alexios merely shrugs Hilde off here.

Martyn sighs at Lian's comment, but smiles despite himself.

"Someone certainly must."

"If you wish, you could join me, Hilde.  We could use an extra hammer."

"It rarely hurts to take precautions.  Still, thank you."

He gave Geoffrey a brief nod before moving to the door.  His eyes darted along along the road outside as soon as he pushed it open, alread examining the defenses, weaknesses, and potential threats even this far into town.

Geoffrey sighed at the antics of the mercs under his command. So long as it didn't come to blows he wouldn't intervene and it already seemed to be calming down.

"Just be careful you three. They've likely got scouts of they're own and if they see ya, well, let's hope that doesn't happen."

He followed Martyn to the door.

"I appreciate how serious you've been through all this, and you've even been helping out the other mercs. You're honestly quite the boon, though you should relax at least a little in your off time. Wouldn't want you to explode from stress."

Hilde follows Martyn as he leaves. She didn't really fancy herself as anything other than someone who heals the wounded, but she could probably help out at least.

Martyn nodded absentmindedly, still focused on the problem of defenses as he stepped out the door.

"I'll see what I can do.  Pick up a book, perhaps, if one of the townsfolk doesn't mind loaning a few candles to read by.  Thank you."

Lian quietly followed along as the three of them moved their way towards the western border, keeping herself a little ways behind the others. Her eyes, for all visible intents, lazily rolled over her flanks, looking over what people were about. Of the people she assessed, she had a feeling their trio would be the only real fighting help for a little ways. Her eyes lazed back onto her comrades, keeping steady pace.

When things seemed to get a little quiet, though...
: "Hyah!" The sword fighter lunged out, attempting to jab both Alexios and Aneira in their backs with the tips of her hands in quick succession.

Jumping and whirling around, Aneira had an arrow almost placed on her bow before she realized what had happened. Sliding her arrow back into the quiver strapped to her hip, she sighed.

"Geeze Lian, what's your game? I was busy keeping an eye for enemies in front of us, not for allies at my back."

Lian finished her lunge and pedalled back to her original distance, laughing gently.
: "Haha..." Lian brushed her hair aside, smiling while resting her left hand on her sword, "It would pay to, Aneira. Geoffery did say there might be scouts, and I gave you a second more than they would have." Lian shrugged. This wouldn't have been the first time she put a scare into her allies to ensure they were alert.

Rolling her eyes, Aneira glared at her companion and sighed.

"Well I figured you'd be keeping an eye on our back since we were keeping an eye on our front."
