Ok, I took the liberty of updating the backstories in the 2nd post.

Seems like nesting Spoilers is a no-no, so I did some tweaking.

@Kadzar, both troubles are nice. Not sure what to do with "wants what he can't have" tho. I assume he *can* have it, just not legally/without creating a big problem? Risky Plans, from the wording you used before, I assume he's always coming up with a new scheme that's probably gonna go wrong inevitably. I'll have to think about how to compel either of both.

"The day I escaped" I suppose is related to that character as a sort of nemesis, right? Did that Captain survive the stabbing?

If you're not sure, just come up with an example of how you could either invoke or have an aspect compelled (or both).

@GentlemanRaptor, the HC is cool, I can see how it can be compelled or invoked... the Trouble seems to relate to all the people he's pissed off, heh.

All the other aspects for both of you seem pretty straightforward, I think.

Yeah, although I suppose it could also sometimes mean the things he wants he can't have for long.

Yeah, Or I suppose as a non-Trouble aspect it could be "So Crazy It Just Might Work". Actually, that's probably too positive, so let's make it "'This Plan is Insane'".

Actually, it was his Lieutenant who I stabbed. And I'm not sure if I care about that specific captain, so maybe the aspect should just be "On Poor Terms with the Royal Space Navy".

EDIT: I just came up with my skills:

Great: Fight
Good: Rapport, Provoke
Fair: Athletics, Deceive, Notice
Average: Contacts, Lore, Shoot, Will

Kadzar, how about this, Romulus met the captain in a barfight, helping him when he accidentally pissed off the other drunkards

@Xeron, yeah, that seems fine.

Also, I'm wondering whether I should work Burglary somewhere into my skills, to account for his plans-making. I suppose I could get rid of Will (as, thinking about it, my character probably isn't really all that strong-willed) and put Burglary in its place, then add in a Stunt that gives a bonus to my Burglary for heisting or whatever.

Okay, my skills are coming right up.

Great: Pilot
Good: Shoot, Provoke
Fair: Lore, Fight, Contacts
Average: Will, Deceive, Notice, Resources

I figured I'd put Contacts and Resources down lower to represent the fact that yeah, Briggs may know somebody, or have money on hand, but that person might hate Briggs' guts, and the money might be stolen and being looked for.

Sorry to hear that Xeron. Don't worry.

Well guys, we still have 3 players, which should be enough to go forward.

@Sirus, you need to cross yer paths and complete your skills. Not sure how to handle the crossover with the Romulus guy, I'd say go ahead and pretend it's still a PC, he'll probably become a NPC or something.

If anyone has stunt ideas just write them down here somewhere and we'll fine tune them. I think we can start actual adventuring this week, so I'll start preparing something good.

BTW: If anyone else wants to join, I'm willing to go up to about 6 players. The game will go forward tho, so anyone created from this point on will be a "drop-in" :D

Alright, I'll start with a stunt.

Evasive maneuvers!
+2 to Pilot when attempting to evade enemy fire in a space battle.

Oh, and a question: how would I use a stunt to represent ongoing fire damage from a fire spell?

Well, I wouldn't allow it, per se, if you're thinking Stress and Consequences as "damage". Any attack that beats defense by enough can get a Boost, which can be anything from being dazed, to being "on fire" I suppose, but it wouldn't just deal more Stress every turn until the target is incapacitated... that probably would be too overpowered, and most cannon fodder enemies don't even have much stress to begin with and don't even get consequence slots.

Then you would use the "boost" to get a bonus or give a bonus to another player when attacking that enemy.

So, a Stunt could make it easier to get said boost, or even upgrade it to an Advantage+free invoke.

EDIT: Alternatively, set someone on fire as Create Advantage, then use any free invokes and/or Fate points for extra ouch on your next attack.

I guess for me I'd like a stunt that gives a bonus to my Burglary when using Create Advantage to set up a heist or whatever and something that allows me to transfer Fate points to other players or at least provide them with bonuses.

And then the rest of my character sheet so far would look like this:

High Concept: Captain with Strange Luck
Trouble: Wants What He Can't Have
Aspect: On Poor Terms with the Royal Space Navy
Aspect: An Oath on My Master's Sword
Aspect: This Plan is Insane

Skills:
Great: Fight
Good: Rapport, Provoke
Fair: Athletics, Deceive, Notice
Average: Contacts, Lore, Shoot, Burglary

Thanks for clearing that up. I'll get my next few stunts ready.

@Sirus? We still need your skill list. You can fill stunts later or during play if you want, you can even leave some skill points blank (I'd like to have at least your best 3 skills tho, for adventure generation purposes).

Use your story, including your "guest appeareances" to decide your official list of Aspects (doesn't have to correspond 1-1 to each part of your background/concept), then after that make your Skill Pyramid. If you can, add a stunt or two.

After that, we're pretty much ready to go, I think.
