In ages long since forgotten, the continent of Thrimos was once a very different place. Deserts covered most of the land and humans struggled against both the hostile environment and themselves for survival. After hundreds of years of the living hell had passed a lone man, as if sent by whatever gods still cared about the hellish wasteland, appeared and began working miracles.

The most notable of the miracles being that he turned desert into grasslands as he walked. He walked across the entirety of the continent save a portion of the southeast corner and a portion of the northeastern corner before he settled down near the center of the continent. He lived there in relative peace for hundreds of years, as if waiting for something to happen, as if there was still something he needed to do.

Whatever it was, he never accomplished it. A embittered youth from the southeastern desert assassinated the man, using a magical artifact that had been in his family for years. The youth's justification was that it was payment for not converting the entire continent into a grassland, for forcing those unfortunate enough to be born in the desert to share the fate of their ancestors. All plant life died within a fifty mile radius of where the man died and an endless deluge began to fall from the heavens.

The deluge devastated human civilizations indiscriminately and threatened to wipe humanity off the face of Thrimos. Those versed in magic theorized that perhaps slaying the youth would fix everything and so the hunt began. It wasn't long before he was found and slayed, his family treasure awarded to the sage who had slayed him. However the deluge still raged. Distraught, the man threw the artifact to the ground, shattering it and releashing a massive burst of magical energy. The deluge stopped and mountains soon rose up, forming a near impenetrable barrier for those both inside and outside, as if protecting the shattered artifact. Finally humanity could rebuild.

However, this is all ancient history, long since lost to the waves of time.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The land of Thrimos, once a scorching desert in the ancient past, now a land full of culture, life and conflict. The origins of the land have been lost to time and it seems all that humanity has interest in is trying to find ways to satiate their lust for power.

Ancient artifacts that hold tremendous power are dug up every day on the orders of power hungry Itolan nobles, a civil war has broken out in Karlt and Itola's crown prince, known to be against artifact excavation, has gone missing. In the country of Lenon, tensions are high as pegasi are soon to be considered a protected species and Ulsheim seems to be preparing for war.

Soon, a simple company of mercenaries, Godhand, will be drawn into the coming conflict and will play a pivotal role in deciding who emerge victorious and who will fall. Currently they are stationed at a small village on the border of Karlt and Itola where they have been offered a contract by a man most suspicious.

This is my first time GMing, so expect mistakes.
