In the world of Wystern, there are seven powerful people known as Craftlords who protect the world from evil. One of these Craftlords, Shintetsu, sacrificed his live to protect his wife Amariss, the Hero, and the whole of Wystern. Three years later, the remaining Craftlords arrange a tournament to replace him. One of the participants is you, the Hero, as you try to honor the memory of your father by following in his footsteps. But, right now, you're not getting any closer to improving, just lying down on your bed like that...

Welcome to my Let's Play of Summon Night: Swordcraft Story, also known as Craft Sword Monogatari, a spinoff entry to the somewhat obscure Summon Night series, developed by Flight-Plan. The series is known for mixing Visual Novel/Dating Sim and RPG elements together (most especially TRPGs, but Swordcraft Story is an ARPG), and the worlds involve other races taken from their own worlds to serve one of the races in the main worlds.

Unfortunately, it isn't that popular outside of Japan due to not having been exported to other countries much, and a shame since the series is pretty good. Somewhat unfortunate is that Flight-Plan declared bankruptcy, but they managed to make Summon Night 5 regardless, and most of its alumni had formed another group, named Felistella. I don't know if there's ever a plan to translate it, and I'm not sure if oprainfall is willing to run a campaign for a total translation of the series (not that it does anything if a company chooses to ignore it).

Now, back to the LP, but before I start proper, we need to decide on a few things:

To quote a certain oaken professor, "Are you a boy, or a girl?" And we also need a name (13 characters max).

Okay, mad props for running a Swordcraft Story LP. Bloody love those things. I've completely played through 1 & 2, and parts of... some third one that was never translated, but seemed better mechanically than either of those, so... am fan, ha.

As for gender, I am contractually obligated by a love of yuri innuendo to recommend girl.

I am also contractually obligated by a consistent naming pattern to suggest she be named Jack.

I am contractually obligated to say don't name a girl Jack unless you add an I or Y to the end.
any other boys name would be fine however maby Bill or Ted or Bobby...

you know what a Girl named Bobby is just gender unspecific enough to work for everyone. yea compromise maby?

I'd be down throwing a vote behind Bob. Just Bob, though.

One of those minor bumps I'm not sure if goes better here or elsewhere, but I figure folks interested in this might be interested in hearing about it -- looks like there's an ongoing translation project for the third game (the untranslated one on the GBA) that's managed one of those ~almost everything but the script~ patches already. You can check out the releases here (goes to the github page, ups filetype. Just click the latest and hit 'raw'.), and maybe give a little love the folks working on it over here, if you've already got (or are willing to get) an RHN forum account. I'm currently giving it a try, ahahaha~

First off, I'm sorry I did not update this on time, but I must tell that this isn't dead. Currently working on this, but I'm also quite busy with school life. I'll get the update posted soon.

We know him! Even if we don't. Especially if we don't. When giant bear man asks if you know him, you say yes.

Nah, not so much them. Didn't care so much for those. Obviously, I meant the questions we have to answer to get a certain something.
