[My Urist Eternal]

This has been going on for years in-game. Nobody seems to be wearing or wielding anything, including my military. Every dwarf is listed as "Uncovered". Everything was fine until one day it wasn't. What's the deal? This screenshot is from Dwarf Therapist.

What s/he said. Also clothes seem to last about two years and to stop bad thoughts a shirt, a pair of trousers, and a pair of shoes is enough.

I have loads of clothing and I have my leather worker hard at work making more. There's also tons of armor and weapons all over the place. But no one seems to be wearing or wielding any of it (unless I am mistaken about something, which is very possible as I'm pretty much a newbie). Everyone is "uncovered" according to DT but it's not because of a lack of stuff.

Might want to double-check that DT isn't making any mistakes. Use the view option in-game to check each dwarf's inventory.

Armour and weapons are only usable by militia, and only if they have been allowed to use them as part of their uniform. Civilians will not pick up a weapon or a piece of armour in most circumstances.

Also, bins can sometimes cause issues with the contents inside.

My dwarves have always grabbed new clothes when they became available but I generally use cloth. It could be that leather clothing is considered armor and thus not available for civilian use. So you would need to assign the dwarves to a military squad with such a uniform. Then you would need to tweak things so they used it when not on active duty.

I guess this is a mistake with DT, as was suggested. I just looked at a few dwarves via the inventory menu and it looks like they are wearing clothes. Weird that they are all "red" in DT. Oh well! Thanks for the help all!    Still trying to figure out this game...

That's not true.  Leather (or even adamantine) clothing is fit for civilian use.  It's the type of clothing, not the material, which determines whether it is considered "armor" or "clothing".  Shoes are civilian clothing, whereas both low boots and high boots are military armor, for example.
