Background: Born to a family with a long line of priests - spiritual guides and tradition-keepers - and warriors, Nahuatl was born healthy but small in body. Given the same name as the grandfather of his mother's mother, a man of strong spirit and strength, by his parents to evoke the same greatness his ancestor had, the boy grew normally and dismissed his family's fears. One problem still remained, however: Nahuatl was easily scared. The repeated thunder that came with the ever-so present Cuatlan storms, random scares by other children, waking up and finding a venomous reptile slithering over his legs; many things considered part of routine or inconsequential to the warrior people made the boy flinch or get nervous, a behavior considered inappropriate for someone with a dignified name and of Cuatlan blood.
As the years passed and the worries about his future as a warrior grew right around the time it became clear he would become a fine, strong man, sessions of spiritual were included in his life as a way of trying to hone his mind and focus. Aside from the usual knowledge required to survive in the wilderness, he was also taught to meditate upon the glory of the past and the possibilities of the future; how his destiny would be following the brave Cuatlans before him and taking up the mantle of the holy mission in order to honor his ancestors. With the materials provided to him, the young man began crafting his own weapons. There was still much suspicion about his abilities and his ability to master his irrational fears, no matter how it was said he had improved, and he was set by his mother's relatives on the path to prove all non-believers wrong.
The pelt he carries is his own kill, acquired through his own blades. Managing to kill one of the honored beasts still wasn't enough to silence voices of concern or scorn due to the wounds he received in the ordeal that many considered an indication he had won due to a stroke of luck, but despite that he was induced into the warrior caste and trained to join the crusade.
