A quiet, loyal trooper, Darrien is usually very reserved. When
he makes his stance known on a subject, however, he is steadfast
in his support. Of medium build, with dark brown hair that is
slightly scruffy, and hazel eyes, he is very unassuming. Confusingly,
there is an air of danger about him... Which is reinforced by his
steely gaze...
Demeanour: Quiet
Darrien was born on Sarrius IX, an Imperial Homeworld to a wealthy family.
Under such care, his parents were able to secure him a place in the
Schola Progenium, where he learned the craft of killing quite well. During his
training, however, Dark Forces were at work... A Chaos Cult, working in the
shadows, had infected the cities within Sarrius with their dark teachings.
In the dark of night they struck, only a few days before Darrien's class was
to be shipped out to join the Sector's Storm Trooper Regiment.
Swarms of heretical zealots swarmed the largest cities on the planet, killing
tens of millions in the first nights. Darrien's class and the local PDF force,
the Sarrien Guard, fought valiantly, but were altogether too inexperienced against
the swarms. Destroyed, Darrien was one of the few shellshocked survivors that were
able to commandeer a cargo freighter and escape the devastation. When the local
magistrate was notified of the planets loss, however, the unthinkable happened.
He ordered a Purge.
A company of the Imperial Fists, the nearest Astartes Chapter, worked in concert
with the systems Imperial Navy, glassing the world and destroying all trace of life
on its surface. Those who escaped were shocked. Not only were their families killed,
but forevermore will they bear the mark of the treasonous name bestowed onto their
planet. The stain left by the order of cleansing, and the erasure of their identity
lead many of them to suicide. The surviving Progenium members were branded cowards, and only
their advanced training and skillset let them survive execution. As it was, they were
divided, sent to other subsectors and placed into other commands, worked back into
the system.
