Background/Description: Atlal is a tall, slight man with olive skin and a face of high cheekbones and sharp features dominated by a beak of a nose. His hair is black, descending in an uneven cascade not even the rigors of military life have been able to neaten. When going into battle, he dabs his face with ashen warpaint in the way of his fathers. The jaguar pelt resting on his shoulders is his own kill, and he wears his obsidian daggers hanging over his chest.
Atlal is known to be silent when nothing is to be said, charming when he needs to be with a slight smile and a glint in his eyes. When going underground and into the regiment's favoured environment, Atlal turns tense and focused, as if expecting something to jump at him from any shadow. Despite, or perhaps because of, this, he stays cool, level-headed and never lets his guard down until safety is reached again. Though the man wouldn't tell you so directly, this stems from a childhood incident where Atlal fell into a deep, dark tunnel and was trapped with a jaguar. It was an experience he has never quite been able to escape.
