Well, if we plan on being a Guerrilla regiment, we can't really be raised on a Hive Planet. I honestly am neutral on the make-up of our regiment, but I prefer the Covert Strike doctrine.

Oh yeah, and character forthwith, most likely tonight once I've read my manual. Which was totally procured by legitimate means.

You don't wanna take the few and mistrusted it'd make replacing men a nightmare and were going to need to replace a lot of men.

@Remuthra: Yeah. It'd be particularly interesting if we managed to amass enough recognition to call tactical airstrikes whenever needed. Earning the right to stand back and watch the fireworks when your regiment has a fairly large number of troop carriers/gunships would be fun.

By the book, The Few only becomes an actual problem when you have to replace your comrades, usually in case the GM is killing them left and right or you just happen to be unlucky. In general, it's a good drawback to pick.

On a different note, remember that riding anything (horses, Krieg quasi-horses, robodinos, regular dinos, bears, tigers) is a different skill than driving/piloting.

I find the concept a bit over-the-top, but it depends on the other players. That and Harbinger never specified how those robo-dinos are supposed to look, unless that image he posted is what he had in mind. Going with that means a Rough Rider regiment and possibly a Forge World origin; a planet ruled by the red robes is the most likely to have that kind of tech and the means to maintain it.

Alternatively, the regiment could be High-Born and the mounts could easily be waved as the result of eccentric and rich people playing soldiers. Maybe something like winged hussars or even fancier monocle-wearing knights mounted atop mechanic critters because their families have the cash to buy and keep that kind of stuff.

-snip-
+1 to that.

That looks a lot like our last Drop Troop regiment (relevant links: 1 2 3). Multi-melta can't be a favored weapon due to how rare it is and the favored basic weapon slot is usually - though not necessarily - spent on as deadly a Basic weaponry you can give your weapon specialists (melta or plasma).

Didn't you already post that? I'm all for robot dinosaurs, but not in this game, really.
