Wow - what an insane debacle.  I think it would have been hard to come closer to disaster without everything falling apart...

This last piece reminds me why this game's bugs are sometimes very nearly as features- the stalwart axedwarf who snaps totally after years and years of training amidst hardships... Great portion of this magnificent story!

I really can't believe the fortress has survived as long as it has. Excellent (if futile) work!

Been a fan of your particular style of storytelling since Weatherwires, so I've been following Roomcarnage eagerly since its inception. I particularly like the portrayal of your dwarves persistence to survive and truck on in spite of all odds (very dwarflike quality might I add, and also shares some similarities to Weatherwires in that regard). As spectators, we know these particular dwarves are doomed, but how will it all end? Its like watching the Hindenburg disaster unfold; horrible (horribly glorious that is) but breathtakingly beautiful at the same time. You just can't avert your eyes from the grisly spectacle that is Roomcarnage.

You're starting to run out of adults. If all of them die, Roomcarnage will turn into a horrible rendition of Lord of the Flies. I hope that won't happen.

Still amazed that the fort hasn't crumbled to its end after so many years. There's been so many close calls that I don't even bother to count them any more. Keep up the good work, this story is fantastic.

I just realized, you've created one of those horror movies in which a community is locked within an area so as to not find the monsters outside. In this case, the Overseer is not allowing dwarves into the the caverns so the citizens won't realize how many of their loved ones are dead.
Did I explain that well? I doubt it.

Also, I've discovered that Mozart's requiem is the perfect thing to listen to while reading Roomcarnage.

No, that made sense to me. Quite an accurate way to see this, actually. Reminds me of The Village, or I guess a reverse version of that Fallout: NV vault where they must sacrifice people every year to prevent ''something''.

Liquid fire. The best way for your dwarves to have an agonizing death achieve world domination.

Engraved is a superior rendition of an image of Arkoth, the local deity of balance and speech, and two elves. Arkoth is burning the two elves. Arkoth is laughing. The two elves are suffering. The image was commissioned by the Round Guild, a local dwarven government.
