I propose a rule that until all people have posted for a particular era, nobody can post their next turn.

Hm, I think that's a bit overly-complicated, especially since eras aren't meant to be short.

How about a basic rule that you can't post until 2 other people have posted between you, and it can't be the same 2 as last time?

There's seven people, yes? So I vote three people.

That would work yeah. The only caveat would be that communication in more "real-time" might be a bit difficult.

Only serves to mitigate the problem, where just making tech rate dependent on actual timepassed would resolve it.

Currently we re working with a dual system where time is dependent on all post, but progress only on yours.

Well, we should probably either make time only pass when everyone's posted their turns for a specific time-period or else vote on a different timeframe.

I disagree with both of those ideas. I trust people to A. Be reasonable and B. just make tech dependent on posts, period, and have it take longer than 2 posts or something.

I don't care about the tech progression, I'm just confused about the timeframe period. As far as I know, the Skalkr posts are within the first half of an Earth year but I'm confused as to how everyone else's is.

See that's the problem.

As far as I recall, each post of each person furthers time by 3 months. Seems logic to extend that rule to techs.

Perhaps, but then you have weird issues with describing the tech advancement in your posts.

Yeah here's the main problem with that. If we overcomplicate time then it's even more confusing than it is now. If we make tech dependent on anyones' posts, it's harder to describe and if you don't have enough researches queued/simultaneous you can get left behind.

Now, if you don't make enough posts you get left behind as well, and you can't do anything about it.

Besides everyone is going for 1/2  turn techs, as otherwise they have nothing to write about;.

So make them 0/1 techs. Make multiple techs at once. It's motivation to post, rather than just doing nothing and the thread dying because no one can think of anything to write about as their techs aren't being completed.

Have your people do something. Explore. Have inter-feudal wars and power struggles. You have more to post in an RPG than just your character's actions.

Well i think it should be like three post or twelve hour, which ever come first then you can post, maybe not exactly 12 hour but like two-three time a day, that should be enough

If nobody posted for like half a day that should be good enough of a reason for you to advance right?(am tempted to post another one right now.... But noone else posted yet
