A wave of relief washed over Eleanor as she saw his lifepoints go to 0, it had been closer than she had expected. She turned away from the proctor and began to head back up towards where she had been sitting, a bright smile on her face the whole time.

Melissa smiled slightly as she shifted her cards, glancing at the one she drew.  Talaya looked back up at her.  "Spring, an auspicious divination for beginnings.  Looks like it's my turn."  She got up from the stands and walked down to the arena, picking up one of the Academy standard duel discs as she passed the main desk.  Inserting her deck into it and letting the auto-shuffler do its work, she bowed politely to the proctor, then drew the five cards to begin.
