If the missiles aren't turret-mounted or pointing away from enemies in the first place, you'll probably need a "one turn" component on them
That was indeed the thing I was missing, worked it out already but thanks. Took me a while to realise it because the missiles were turning in a specific and consistent direction, just not where I wanted them to.

I tried the Space Engineers free weekend and wasn't really convinced enough to buy, for many reasons. Performance was pretty bad building was really awkward, and I never felt like I was getting anywhere. I didn't have a lot of time to really dive into it though.

I'm clicking better with From the Depths though! I really like the way you can customise your guns, engines, etc. Can't wait to get some time to try out the campaign! I hear there's an update for that coming... hmmm...

The campaign is great, makes you better at efficient designing since it adds resource management. It has a few issues at the moment since the way the campaign worked was recently completely overhauled, but still loads of fun to play if you don't abuse the poor maladapted enemy AI's.

so for anyone who's a fan of the Nausicaa movie, i'm currently making a large aircraft based off of the Terumekian Flying Fortresses.

So this might be a stupid question but how do you get turrets that neither wobble around like a giraffe with a broken neck, nor get stuck unable to turn?

The motorized barrels; they give the barrel up to something like 30 degrees of rotational freedom. The rest of the gun can then be left attached firmly to the craft.

Also, to ask: Is it worth the money at the current stage?

Used correctly the azimuth-only rotational blocks, with the barrels that give you elevation will do this for you.

Also heavy assault gunship? Thats 3-4 the size of a mothership... i dont wanna see your mothership design, just the pic will make my computer cry bloody tears haha.

As for me i made a small quadri rotor chopper thing wich has enough space to field 2 small F-16 type fighter on each side. these small fighter can go a whopping 100 speed!

As for the mothership im using there is enough lifting power and redundancy to allow level flight even if the take a whole rotor down. Armed with only missile i have 3 heavy battery in the front total firepower power 30 size 6 missile (3 frag or explosive payload), thats the offensive systam, each side is covered with 8 size 3 heatseaking missile for AA defence.

Everything on ground get obliterated at long range using my fighter wich has 6 size 3 frag missile, the speed they go nothing can touch them exept the ground... man is the ground good at catching up on fighter, specially mountains. When the enemies get into my main missile battery range... its just way too nice to see all these explosion! I think i should make a few screenies. Funny thing is.... i was flying that quadri thing for its first test flight and went into a fight, i N'ed so i could get closer to the enemy and see how my fighter was going, i came back to my mothership a few minute later... it was in space..... I fragging went in space with nothing but spinblocks hahaha.

DF doesn't mold players into its image - DF merely selects those who were always ready for DF.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

azimuth-only rotational blocks
Ah, that would probably work. Thanks, didn't know those existed.

Ya theyre really great at making turrets. Just make you add elevation barrels or motor-driven barrels so that the cannons can fire where you want them to.

Marry me!!! But first, finish the ship! I feel like maybe the wings are a tad too long compared to the tail, but I don't have a reference on me.

I should have a reference on me. Because Nausicaa is the best movie of all time and also my first crush.

Got it on the bundle, and question time: Is there a way to cheat for the unlocks? I want to play a bit around with the creative mode without having to grind for a bunch of pieces (who the fuck was the "genius" that decided that the pieces should be locked even in the creative mode? :P ).

Cheese the campaign missions by loading in huge gun platforms and plinking away at the enemies.
