"Ah, showing him the ropes, eh? I remember my first time. Anyway, here's the basics."

"First off, we have the police report. On the day of the incident, the security cameras were undergoing maintenance. Once repaired and turned on, footage was captured of the defendant brutalizing hostages and tampering with a box believed to contain the bomb. He was arrested after leaving the building."

"After that, we have the bomb specialists' report. The bomb was believed to contain massive amounts of a high explosive, likely C4. The damage to the structural integrity of the basement caused the collapse of most of the building."

"And before you get any smart ideas about the defendant warning people about the bomb seemingly contradicting his intentions... well, you remember the "wine in front of me" scene in The Princess Bride, right?"

"In the film, 'the man in black' challenges the Sicilian criminal Vizzini to a 'battle of wits', in which he poisons a glass of wine with 'iocane powder', an undetectable poison. He places the goblet and an identical one between Vizzini and himself, then tells Vizzini to pick a glass to see 'who is right and who is dead'. Vizzini goes on a long tangent about how he can't pick the wine in front of him, because a smart man would have put the wine as far away from himself as possible, but a smart man would have also realized this and done the opposite to fool his opponent, but a smart man would have realized that his opponent would realize this... ad infinitum. You can see how the scene ends for yourself, if you're so inclined, but I think you see my point."

"So the point I'm making that your client warning bystanders has no impact is that while he could have, perhaps, been actually warning bystanders, he could have also been doing that to make himself look more innocent. We have no way to know which."

"Is there any evidence of how the bomb was detonated? A timer or a remote detonation?"

"Oh, yeah. That reminds me."

As you may recall, in said scene, both glasses contained the poison. The Wine in Front of Me analogy is simplistic, allowing only two possibilities. This leads to Vizzinis' death in said scene. The defendants' own motives and actions are not the only factours in this matter. There are many other potential reasons for the Bay12 Capital Building to have been bombed and interested persons to carry it out. I personally suspect that the crime syndicate White Plateau may have had a hand in it. Irregardless, further investigation of the physical evidence may well tip things one way or another. You said that the security cameras were undergoing maintenance. Was the maintenance scheduled or in response to some unforeseen damage of malfunction?

"As Arcvasti notes, that analogy is quite simplistic, and hints that you perhaps intend to pin this crime on someone, evidence or otherwise... But, a further question: How exactly did the bomb get through, or around, the rest of the security, do you suppose?"

"No fingerprints, huh? I'd like to inform you of something, Godot."

"'Simplistic'? The outcome of the scene has nothing to do with this; the point is in the logic. ...Seems you're unfamiliar with Mafia."

"But I digress. We believe the bomb got past security using Pumaman's transdimensionalizing powers; one week prior, he had come during a tour of the building, and was therefore familiar with the basement. This allowed him to take the bomb and hostages past security directly into the basement."

"As for the maintenance, it was scheduled."

"No fingerprints, huh? I'd like to inform you of something, Godot."

"He wasn't wearing gloves? We accounted for this. Have you considered that he may have disposed of his gloves? Or that he took care to not get his fingerprints on the remote?"

"It seems a little too... Pat.  If we're talking Mafia, he's almost too scummy.

Who has access to that schedule?"

[FelixSparks]

"Almost. I would like to discuss the gloves you said he discarded. If you arrested him immediately, he would have had no time to dispose of them, since the detonator was found 2 feet from him. However. That's not what's important here. What's important is that PUMAMAN is a cheesy super hero. And those kinds of heroes follow a few basic rules. One! They are not usually smart enough to figure out a plot before it's spelled out for them. Two! They don't change costume mid movie, so the inclusion of gloves would be impossible for him to pull off! And three! A cheesy hero like that would never harm innocents!"

"And four: There's an important test we haven't yet done.  With your permission, the defense would like to see if Pumaman can, in fact, do whatever mumbo-jumbo and access the basement."
