Kimiko puts a hand on her forehead and leans that arm on the table.

Alex looks puzzled.
"No, I didn't add compost to them. Why would I do that? You have strange tastes."
A sandwich is demolished, rapidly followed by another.

Eren sighs, then motions to Alex's books.
"What were you drawing earlier?"

Daoto walks into the cafe, still feeling half-asleep. She orders the largest coffee they have and slumps at a table.

"Oh, that! I was recording details of last night stuff! Looky!"
Alex knocks back a sandwich with one hand, and flips open one of the notebooks with the other. There are a number of detailed pencil drawings of Daoto in various... stages of the mechanical fiddling. The Daoto is writhing. All craftAlexship is of the squickiest quality.

He sees Daoto enter
"Put that shit away"

"A club wouldn't work. We'd have to let other, non-magical students in. Plus, it'd put us under scrutiny."

Beryl was secretly wanting to join a club as well, but none of the clubs would have been a fit. So he pressed the issue a bit more.

"Letting other students in doesn't seem to be a problem. Most of the Asian students don't bother with a club if there's a foreigner in it and most of the foreigners join only one club, the 'Foreign Union Club'. Thing is all we need to do to stay above scrutiny is have 4 or more members and participate in the school festival. We can manage to keep the club low-key by not advertising for new members. Plus we'd get all the perks of having a club like..."

Daoto glares daggers at Eren from under her bangs, sipping her coffee. It probably hasn't kicked in yet. Though it is much harder to be confident about her gender being female with the way she looks right now...

Beryl sits back for a second. This is the first time he's talked to this many people at once in a long time.

He smiles for a second and watches the trees planted on the terrace begin to sway in the breeze.
