"I have a progressive nerve disease. Normally, by now, I would have trouble even talking or breathing, and be completely unable to walk or control my limbs. About five years ago I found this metal rod-thing, my parents had some tests done on it. It's bio-mechanical, and they manages to keep it mostly under wraps, but the most important thing they found was that it could interface with human nerve cells. So they asked me if I wanted to see if it could help me, and I said yes. We still aren't sure what it is, exactly, but honstly, I don't care. I can walk again, thanks to it. My life isn't confined to a hospital bed with tubes stuck down my throat."

She sits down on her bed during this, still holding her head, and licks her lips. They're very dry.

"Now, pardon me for asking, but why is it any of your fucking business? And why the hell did you shove up my shirt? That's a serious breach of my privacy, and I'm really tempted to call campus security."

"We're all rather new at this, so it actually is not 'just another Tuesday' for us."
