yes they are delivered to whereever.

4maskwolf, i would kindly ask you to be more patient, it is a hell of a strain to handle 5 players empires at once including the espionage not to mention asnwering questions being fired at the speed of a machinegun through irc, this thread and pms without you jumping in and asking me when i get things done.

Everything has its time and place a map will appear when it does appear and an update willc ome when its going to come, as the game proceeds it will all get slower for obvious reasons of Growth and me having finals in two weeks.

@adwarf: very well as you wish.

Random.org says: Taricus is the next player. I will set you up with the beginning of the next turn.

Adwarfs nation will be turned into a Minor NPC Nation.

with the next turn. Propably. you can still do what you planned, since it doesnt change anything on the ongoing set up.

Could I give food to slaves even though it does nothing? Starving them wouldn't fit my people but having an infidel caste that earns it's redemption and advancement to the next class through servitude and conversion to Fayfe does.

slaves dont consume food usually, as it is considered that they get the scraps of their masters. So you don't use up slave resources in any way, they just dont take away your food goods. However if you want to spend food anyway on them for fluff reasons its your choice.

I do. We can't be the honorable religious zealots floating through the stars if we starve millions of people.

Damnit!

I'm next after him, though, right?

Since the other two didn't have finished sheets when me and Taricus did?

Right? >.<'

Ghaz I'm not trying to be pushy, I mostly ask for ETA's. Sorry if I come across as pushy.

Rant will come later, and has nothing to do with the speed of updates.

Looking at the influence ratings and tax income everyone has, especially combined with the credits invested in research(and thus ability to use hired pirates) and the military strength everyone has,  I'd say it's likely it was damn near certain Adwarf was the one to to attack Ebbor so aggressively.

I'm surprised Ebbor wasn't investing more in Counterintelligence, honestly. Or perhaps he was, and the mercenary trade escorts simply weren't enough to counter the pirates.

It was Adwarf mostly on all of the intrigue stuff.

Both fleets were intercepted. Otherwise there's no battle. I had some bad luck with the dice (Could have fended of one attack completely it they'd gone my way). Made a flawed tactical descision for the other. (You don't know the enemy fleet composition before engaging, which makes it much harder to guess what you're doing.)

Also, pirate fleets are bloody strong.

I think, in order to be 100% sure of my victory, I would have needed to hire 30-40 escorts.

On a side note, in the event of a stalemate during a raid, does the defender win, or the attacker, or does the battle happen again.?

I went over my sheet a while back, though if it's still incomplete I guess I'll mess around with it a bit more.
Just re-read that and noticed the 'when' bit. Fair enough, not much I can say if the waitlist works like that.

ebbor, in case of stalemate battle will continue until one side is defeated or retreats. In case of a retreat(of the pirate) the pirates identity becomes known.

Also you could have done a lot more damage with a different setup:
the enemy had a generally stronger fleet than you had, since he expects you to take mag shields all the way through (which you did) you can assume that he will use boarding, since it cant be blocked by any current means and gives an advantage to his stronger ships when it goes over to boarding. Sicne Boarding disables Mag Fields you can go with Weapon Overclock and when that happens at least in the second battle you could have (potentially) done more damage than you could ever do in a boarding battle. besides the damage you do during weapon overclock damages the ships and if he has no troops onboard thats the strength with which he attacks, so a class 4 ship brought down to strength 2 via overclock which then starts boarding, fights with strength 2. Giving you a much better chance...

In any case yes the pirates were strong because much money was invested.

Before I start pointing out what I perceive as problems in the game balance, I want to start by saying that I have the utmost respect for Ghazkull for making a game this cohesive and complicated with as few flaws as it has.  I could never have done the same, so I don't want to give the impression that I believe myself to be somehow better at this than he is, because I'm not.  I'm simply pointing to where I see problems and proposing solutions to those problems, which Ghaz can do whatever he wants with.  I don't want to put undue pressure on him to take what I propose.  What I say is my opinion only, and is limited to the problems at hand: I am not trying to cast judgement on the creator of this game or any of its players, and I apologize now if I come across that way.  If anyone wants any clarification on things I say, feel free to chime in.

Also, I would like to note that these are all based on my understanding of the rules.  If I am wrong, I apologize.

Now, starting from the top of my list of perceived problems:

Spoiler: Problem One: Piracy (click to show/hide)

I have another one, but it's going to have to wait until I talk to someone further about it.  In the meantime, there they are.
