Well, what else are we going to do? Not like anyone knows how to un-witchify someone. Hell, the protagonists don't even know that the witch IS Sayaka. Or who Sayaka is.

I do have a reason for Hikari being hotblooded, however.

At best, Hikari-or someone, really-could TRY to give an inspiring speech to in theory push Sayaka and Kyoko BACK over the Despair Event Horizon, in theory reverting the transformation by essentially reversing what caused the damn thing in the first place.

At worst, we get two dead witches and enough grief to get perks, as well the ability to kill on of the scrappies and her girlfriend.

Thus why Aiko was the important piece here because she should have been like, 'wait up nigga somethin' aint right' and then they draw conclusions from what Kyle saw and what Aiko is seeing.

Yes, but then what are you going to do? You don't know that grief turns Magi into Witches, neither does Hikari. So even if you knew that Sayaka was Oktavia, nothing really you can do unless you have the vital piece of information which I'm pretty sure Kyoko doesn't- grief equals witches.

And nobody knows how Witches are born save Homura, who isn't even there, and Kyubey, who's keeping mum.

Yes, but then what are you going to do about the huge witch in front of you? Remember, if it kills Muggles- and it will- that's on us. We can't leave it- so we either kill it or try to turn her back. Weirdness or not.
