Sidenote: Something happening to my character's emotional state which I have no control over is just a little bit different than the premise of the game being mildly unrealistic.

It is one of the established rules in the show though. Using your magic does darken your Soul Gem and being around Witches can cause grief in of its own. Both of which can affect your character's emotional state.

Made a long post last night that acknowledged Harbinger's points, stated my goal, which was to make a good story(which is different, I think, than what it seems like Harbinger thought it was), countered some of his points, pointed out the similarities between Eren's rant and Daoto's whining, apologized for being a dick about thing OOC and asked Harbinger not to passive aggressive about things OOC.

Then it got eaten.

But for the record; I dislike being told how to play my character. If someone else is going to effectively play them for me, there is no reason for me to play at all.

As well; if the outcome of the story is predetermined, and everyone knows how it will end and what will happen to each individual(that being death, in one form or another), it cannot truly make a good story. Don't get me wrong, I'm of the opinion that the journey is more important than the destination for stories, but the journey is basically all known too.

It's based on one of the games.

Actually, it's based on a different timeline where Homura would have gained her powers after Sayaka and Madoka, hence why Sayaka has already become a witch. The one different thing is, Sayaka became a witch while Madoka, Mami, and Kyoko were not near her, and thus they only found Sayaka's body, and presumed that a Witch had destroyed her Soul gem.
