Question. If the Damage Stat of a Weapon is 0, but the Crit Stat isn't, does it still use strength for damage?

Another question. Which is more effective for minimizing damage: Armor/Shield, or Defense?

If the damage stat of a weapon is 0, then it defaults to using the user's SPD as it's attack and suffers from a negative modifier. However, unless it is stated on a character's sheet that it's damage is uses the user's SPD or strength, then it does not suffer a negative modifier.

Armor, shield, and Defence all factor into minimizing damage, First the armor, then the shield, then the Natural defence. ((I tend to get lazy and just add all the defence stats together then roll it.))

Cool. The character fights with his fists, and thus the weapon would probably be a perk. However, it doesn't make much sense if he has a shield, but since 5 points towards a perk won't actually do anything, and crits are cool, I was hoping to put them towards Crit.

@Harbinger: But...well, actually, since he's a mysterious alien magical cat, he probably won't give a shit.

Speaking of which...I need to PM Sanure about that at some point...hmmmm...

So armor, shield, and defense are all worth about as much, save that natural defense counts against both physical and magical attacks, but takes stats out of the rest of your stuff, and the other two are smaller individually...

Well, nobody has, as of yet, created a mighty glacier. This guy should hopefully change that. I just wish I could combine the Shield into the Armor. I suppose making the Shield purely perks would accomplish more or less the same thing...do shields and armor get different perk-types, Sanure? And can we ever put points towards making the armor/shield more effective as an armor/shield through non-perk means? Finally(I think), do our base stats ever go up?
