Once for every time you get into combat.

So if Kirby the Sorcerer* is attacked by three kobolds, he can use Burning Hands to reduce them all to ash. If another kobold pops up immediately, he can't use Burning Hands again. If he walks a kilometer and takes a few minutes to rest before running into another kobold, though, he'll be able to use Burning Hands on it.

*Not actually a sorcerer. He just thinks it sounds cooler than wizard.

Ah ok. My brain is in AD&D mode and I thought I'd have to prepare spells in the morning.
What about At-will powers? Can I keep using them indefinitely?

Yup. 4e wizards are, as far as I can tell, stronger than 3.5e wizards/sorcerers in many respects.

Before we start, I changed my character's name to a shorter, less bulky one. "Akulecen" translates to "Questoaks" in the Human Dwarven Dictionary.

Well, I'm back and looks like you guys haven't started yet. So... I guess I'll lurk until I get off the waitlist then. Sounds like fun.

Hmmm... Asmur stands in front of the mob approaching Player #11 Björn.

Stop. This man has not wronged you in any way. If you do not stop, my blade will do so for you.

Asmur draws his gracefully curved longsword, seeing that unnecessary violence may take place momentarily.

Come now! This man merely wants some trade. Who amongst us would wish to stop the flow of coin into this town, or outside investment coming in! We are not kobolds that we attack those seeking aid!

Yorvan struggles out of the crowd, and stands well out of Darius' reach.

Darius, you're damaging your business. By the end of this day, everyone will hear how you ordered a visitor to this town to leave. Do you wish this to be what is thought of when people think of you?

Ashcroft moves to the side of the commotion and shouts out to the crowd, more like a dwarf than a halfling.

Are they all BLOODY DAFT? Have you gone soft in the head? Come, people, look at your very own militia, ganging up on someone asking for help. Are you sure you have enough men to kick a single unarmed man into a bloody pulp? Let's give them a round of applause, people, the brave frontier guards of Fewhope, always ready to protect you from... ah, right. From unarmed travellers. Scared, unarmed travellers looking for help. One scared traveller looking for help, really. Brave and resourceful lads, aren't they? Why should they get dangerously hired, when a robbery in broad daylight is so much more convenient? Shame on you, mister mercenary.

Ashcroft theatrically spits on the earth.

Ah, fuck it. I'll have you know, sir Björn, halfling hospitality still counts for something around these parts. On behalf of Fewhope, I'd be glad to assist you.

And you, mister mercenary? This is the day these fine men of Fewhope are going to remember... as the day when a halfling told you how to be a bigger man.

Shit. Either the crowd's on my side or I'm royally fucked. Still, always wanted to be a king.

The armoured Aldarun stepped forward out of the crowd, silently standing beside them. Obviously a measure of support, he was nonetheless silent.
