"If we can land near the forest, I'll give you cover from there while the rest of you creep in and disable the bridge.

"We could most likely follow the riverbank from the forest to the bridge and place charges on the bottom of the bridge"
He draws up a plan

"So John would set up the Machine gun at the red dot, Alice will set up around the grey dot, and I'll take Dany, Zach, and Alexi to blow the bridge."

"Sounds simple enough." Dany traced his finger on the map. "Obviously something will go wrong at the last moment, but if we're quick enough it shouldn't be something that can't be handled."

That's what John and Alice are for. As soon as they feel we're in danger, they'll light the enemy up.

((Damn, I was assuming a "machine gun" was an SMG, not a full "deploy me with a bipod" LMG. I guess I need to amend my idea, heh.))

John doesn't let having a mouth full of food stand in way of his speech.

"Love the idea, love it, I can lay down suppressive fire like nobody's business, I truly do. But see, you really want to be on the other side of that river when I do. I think. If my suppressive fire blazing right over your heads seems a good idea to you, then you're all braver men than I am. Not that it's hard. But still."

Finally done with his meal, and with a longing look towards other plates, he continues.

"Also, if anything does go down, I'll need you to get busy with grenades. Otherwise the fuckers will shoot me up as soon as they dislodge their heads from their asses, and possibly pull their pants up."

He's getting into the planning, so much that he even skips the usual barrage of profanities.

"What else... Not sure where the flamer comes in, for one thing. For another, I suggest we watch them first, for a day or so. An untimely morning patrol shift could really mess up our day badly. Whatever happens, we won't get a second chance at this, so even if it all goes sideways, we need you to blow up the bridge at all costs, even if you're under enemy fire."

Flamerthrower is both bulky and heavy. We could leave it behind if it's not useful.

"We'll be doing multiple tasks, but we won't need the flamethrower in the beginning. We most likely should have fortifications in the wood, John will get everything thrown at him, not to mention we shouldn't carry everything with us during an assault. Taking a day to setup and observer will be crucial."

We could set up snares, I suppose, but our best defence would to be somewhere else when it blows.

"Sounds good. If all else fails, the blasting cap could be strapped to the flamer, I suppose - which would get us a highly volatile area denial smoke screen of fiery death. Shit, I signed up for this?"

- I heard those who carry flamethrowers are never got as prisoners. I can carry the flamethrower, and leave my machinegun munition to John.

Dany nodded absentmindedly to the other's input, filtering through the idea and constantly giving everyone an assuring smile, no matter if he understood them or not. He hope that he won't get to be the one who has to do the scouting, although it would also likely give him some opportunity to steal some food. If he plays it safe enough he's unlikely to mess up and alarm the enemy camp.

((Ayup, SMG would've been 'assault rifle'. Also, the distance between forest and village is around 500 meters - a bit far for machinegun fire. The area is hilly, though, with some trees: There must be cover somewhere between forest and village.))
