"But in case he does not, do try to avoid cutting off something important, yes?"

Sadie patted the bench beside her.

"Wanna have a seat, Vito? We're the odd ones out and you might as well sit down while we watch."

"Unless you're thinking of challenging the boss...?"

[Kelsper]

:"Not making any promises, Sadie! As for you, Alastair, you claim that I'm joking, and yeeeet you're still talking to me!"

  "Fine! Are you ready to go, then? You were the one asking, anyway."

Alastair leaned against his lance. If they weren't going to do anything, he may as well go back to taking a nap.

[Lucus Casius]

"Ahh... Grazie, bella.  Sei molto gentile."

Vito sheathed his blade and took the proffered seat, allowing himself to relax against the sun-warmed pillar at his back.  He gives the healer a brief smile and nod of thanks before returning his attention to the oncoming match.

"And if Signore VanSantana wishes me to fight him, I have no doubt he will make it known once he sees me sitting here."

"If not, I am content to wait and watch the others.  It is best that I recall their styles before I challenge them again, no?"

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Indeed! Maybe someday soon I'll be able to join in, instead of just watching on the sidelines. I've been practicing with maces in my spare time."

Sadie stretched.

"Well, not that I mind keeping everyone in top condition! It's an important job too."

[Lucus Casius]

"D'accordo! A force without a healer is a force that must soon fall, no?"

"But if you wish to practice your skill con armi, I will be pleased to assist you.  Even if my talents lie more in sword than mace."

"Just be careful not to put yourself in too much danger.  Physicians are their own worst doctors, I am told."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Indeed! And, well, I'm not confident enough yet to be fighting someone else. I'm afraid I might drop my weapon on my toes or something!"

"Well, anyway. I'm here to support you guys, whether you need a staff or a mace! So, maybe I won't be getting hurt too much myself. Hopefully."

Pelageya takes her axe out, albeit still in the sheath so not to end in woundings.

Well, Alastair had been able to poke out with his lance, but even he had to admit he came out the worse of the two.

"Ach, maybe not such a waste of my time, then!"

"You allow her too far under your guard, Signor Allie.  She may strike with her edge while you flail with your haft. Prevent that, and you may yet win."

Leaning closer to Sadie while keeping his eyes on the fight, he whispered out of the corner of his mouth.

"Prepare your staff.  He shall fall within the next two passes."

"You think so? Hmm. I think he'll manage to stay up for another two exchanges. Want to make a bet of it?"

"Agreed, signorina.  I say one or two, you say three or more.  What shall we wager?"

Alastair backed off, waiting for the next attack, but when Vito spoke, he sighed heavily before replying.

"Your confidence and loyalty are unparalleled throughout the land, Vito, truly. 'Tis just one hit. One might think you didn't believe in my ability! A fool, no?"

He was unaware, of course, of what Vito and Sadie were discussing in private.
