The latest Wikimedia Foundation volunteers gathered in a mid-sized computer room in the foundation's headquarters. All were thought to be dedicated to the goal of providing user-generated informative sites to the people of the world. All were thought to be honest individuals. All were thought to be the right people for their jobs.
None of those were completely true. Among the volunteers was a group of banned Wikipedia vandals out for revenge. Their goal: carry out the most devastating act of vandalism ever. It had taken them a few years and much effort to manage to infiltrate the Wikimedia Foundation. They were finally ready to carry out their plan. The vandals started to finally carry out their vandalism.
Then the Accident happened.
This is a simple BYOR (Bring Your Own Role). You PM me a Wikipedia article (yes, I'm limiting it to Wikipedia articles) (sorry, Shakerag) and I'll give you a power role at least remotely based on it.
Basic rules (largely
stolen from Webadict, with some modifications):
- No PMing to anyone but me, the mod. I won't make this an action either.
- No Quoting of the Mod in relation to PMs. You are free to quote anything in the thread. You may also paraphrase.
- Semi-hammers in effect. Days last on a soft 48 hours (not counting weekends), unless majority is voting for any player or No Lynch. If a player is hammered, there is to be no more talking. If you accidentally post something after the hammer, you can and should edit out the post.
- Nights last 24 hours or whenever all the actions are sent in. If you do not wish to action, please send a PM stating so.
- Extensions require a majority vote. This will be limited to 2 extensions per Day.
- There are no Post Restrictions, other than those related to playing the game fairly.
- I cannot answer questions about player's roles unless that player's role is available to be seen. I cannot answer questions about your role in thread. I can, however, answer generic questions. I will simply ask you to rephrase the question, if I deem the question is bad.
- Please vote in a manner that is viewable. If I can't see your vote, I might skip it.
Bold and Red makes it really easy to see.
- I reserve the right to reject submitted articles.
BYOR 12 wincons apply with the exception of survivor, who must survive to the end of the game if one exists (should have posted this initially... inexperienced mod mistakes...).
You are not in the game until I receive a role. Also, don't under- or overestimate your abilities. And have fun!
If enough players sign up, the game will start
next week (the week of the 15th), or when Supernatural 7's second day has started, whichever is later when I have roles finished June 22nd, 2014, 9:00 PM PST.
