Yeah... He argued about pointless things a lot, it's a shame really.

I'm taking a neutral stance on the matter of bringing him back,  because 50 page argument on the definition of Civil War.

Phew, that's...I hate to say it's a surprise, but frankly, with that many warnings and multiple mutes, I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner.  He was a really, really prolific player, and quite good when he could get into the game, but he was just too argumentative.  Still, it's a shame that it had to happen this way; I was still hoping he'd tone down the rhetoric and insults.  That said, though it's probably no longer relevant due to that...

I'm pretty sure my interpretation of the rules is correct. Aside from no part of the rules saying you can skip phases, it would kinda negate the ability of not only Malicious Fiend but also everything on this list--dozens of cards, and I'm pretty sure some others as well.

You can skip the Battle Phase and Main Phase 2, as long as you skip both.  Ignoring card effects that explicitly state to skip a phase, if no battles are (or must be) conducted, a player can go straight from the Main Phase 1 to the End Phase.  There is an explicit UDH ruling that also specifies that Malicious Edge's ability can be avoided by simply not entering the Battle Phase, because its ability actually and unusually specifies (unlike most other "must attack" cards) that it only activates in the Battle Phase.

That could work, I guess. Still, this will be postponed for a while. Gonna have to figure out exactly what to do about this.

Could have Angel eliminated through the abilities of a "later season" big bad, but in a way that would not result in the duels being called off.
