Hello, I'm here to pick up an order. For Joel?
Huh? Oh, oh yeah. Kinda, ah, forgot about that. Sorry about the mess...
There should be a small crate outside with Master Joel's order. It'll be marked "Joel," and don't worry about payment; I was paid beforehand.

Quelle could have guessed that by the number of bottles on the floor.
He heads outside the shop and finds the package next to a barrel of rainwater.
The laborer from before seems to have left, and the cart wreckage down the street is gone.

((Well I don't know what to suggest because I kinda forgot what we are doing so i'm just going to wait for someone else to suggest something. I don't really get what everyone has against having traps in their games but their games are their games so meh.))

Quelle is supposed to be hauling a crate to the blacksmith Joel, in order to get the monies.

The main reason, if I recall correctly, for the 'no traps' bit was that, at the time the game was made, there were quite a few trap characters floating around in various games and I felt that they were becoming overdone.

Which was a silly reason because Kevak's trap characters were always unique and interesting.

((OK. Thanks for explaining.))

Take crate to Joel.

((I agree with senpai always making unique and interesting characters. I think senpai might have a super computer for a brain.  :P))

Quelle hefts the crate onto his shoulder and heads off to the blacksmith, ignoring the water.
He makes it back to Joel's workshop without incident.
Once there, he heads to the smithy to drop off the delivery and receive his payment.
Joel isn't there, so Quelle sets down the crate and waits for him to return.
A few minutes later, Joel comes in looking more than a bit pissed off.
Want to guess who I just finished talking to?
Quelle has a vague idea who, and an inkling that it won't be beneficial to his pay.

Not a friend, I suppose?
YOU HAD ONE JOB! Now I owe damages to the Furrier's guild, and the guard is probably going to start breathing down my neck for hiring you!
Despite his harsh words, he still tosses Quelle a small half-filled coinpurse.
Now get out, and be glad that you're still getting anything. I don't want to see your face in my shop again, hear me?!
With that Quelle quickly makes his escape out from the smithy.
He's back in the square, now wondering what to do.

There's a fancy inn on the other side of the square, and Quelle recalls seeing a cheaper looking inn from before when he was wandering the town this morning.

Quelle heads back to where he saw the inn.
On his way, he passes a park with a large pool of water comprising most of it. There are a few shrines in the park itself, and three temples around the park. One of the smaller temples seems to have scorch marks marring the exterior.
He soon finds himself in front of a large single story stone building with multiple small windows. A sign reads "Scarlet Wand Inn."
Entering, Quelle is assault by the smell of grilled food and strong ale. Looking around, he takes a seat at the bar.
The innkeeper, an old halfling, seems to be resting on a hammock next to the bar but gets up as you approach.
Welcome, young one, to the Scarlet Wand Inn! I'm the keeper here, the name's Aslar. We've got good food and drink, and we've plenty of open cots in the dormitory.
What are you interested in?

Buy something to eat and drink then ask about any local news or rumors.

I'll take something to eat and drink, preferably cheap.
Sure thing, I'll get you some porridge and water.
Aslar leaves and comes back a few moments later with a bowl of steaming porridge and a wooden cup of water.
As he eats, Quelle asks him about local news and rumors.
Well, Samune's temple over by the Pool was attacked about a week ago. No one knows who did it, but many suspect the followers of Honem, Goddess of Chaos and Undeath.
I've heard word that someone has been digging up graves at night and looting the bodies.
There's also been tale of an increasing number of greenskin attacks in the Goblin Woods here next to town. Cassandra, from the ward, was nearly killed by these marauders. They say that there is an old hermit in the woods who helps these beasts. The guard is considering offering adventurers pay if they can take out some of the goblins and that witch.
That's all I've heard about recently, and the meal will be three coppers.

Quelle pays the man and looks around the inn. There are two other patrons, a man sitting alone with a sketch pad looking very focused on his work, and another human man wearing colorful clothing. He's eating a meal similar to yours. Beside him lies a lute and traveling pack.
