Re: Let's Play Hidden Agenda, Season 2 Week 10: The Union Forever?

Did the Revolution stop because of illegality? No, the people follow Justice, not poorly thought-out laws! They will strike regardless of what we do, their very blood calls them to that -- unless you ask that we violently repress our very own people... then what good the revolution, for what reason did we fight? Only to become the Evil that we vanquished?

Me miserable! which way shall I fly
Infinite wrath, and infinite despair?
Which way I fly is Hell; myself am Hell;
And, in the lowest deep, a lower deep
Still threatening to devour me opens wide,
To which the Hell I suffer seems a Heaven.

Flipped a coin, Sheb won. These unionists won't get the right to strike, but they will get the right to be struck with police batons!

Now THIS is a REAL Crisis!

Shall we stay the course, and settle this Crisis with the sword? Or will moderation prevail?

Destroy the reactionaries.

Does this even need to be debated? Smush those reactionaries into paste!

And now we see the real face of those hypocrytical communists. They want to spare hooligans the police baton, but honest, patriotic Chimericans are to be killed. If you use the death squads, you'll be no better than the dictator you replaced. Make a deal with Ehrlics for now, if you don't want your people's blood on your hands!

Well, you know, nine out of ten Hungarian noblewomen agree that blood has a rejuvenating effect on the skin.  No compromise with reactionaries.

The mob people have spoken!

Yeah yeah we've heard it before. But what's this? A report from the battle?

Colonel Ehrlich and the Farsante Guard have escaped been driven out of the country! Rejoice! Although we must be prepared for their return, they've likely fled to plot with other enemies of the Revolution abroad...

So these papers are looking a little ominous. The enemies of the Revolution grow bolder every day. What is next for Chimerica?

EDIT: Just as an Appendix, this is what our ministers are worried about right now

The imperialists recoil in terror at our success. It must be held as a point of pride that our most venomous enemies would so condemn our efforts.

We should now continue to consolidate what little loyalty we can build in the general population - our refusal to let workers determine their lives has not won us too many allies among the true revolution - proceed with the land reform.

We already have the support of the people, we need to make sure the upper classes don't turn on us, or fund a right-wing guerilla. Talk with the coffee grower.

Sheb has lady luck on his side, he has won the coin flip again.

Should the dictator's former estates be delivered to the people or should they be run as state farms?

I have to side with my pinko colleague and support land reform. We simply don't have the know-how to grow coffee, and we need the cash.

For a party that claims to represent the common people Manuel seems a little too annoyed at our gift of land to the poor coffee farmers... Anyway, new season!

And a new Crisis...

This is a tough one. If we listen to the campesenos than we will see skyrocketing food prices, and probably starvation in the streets of our Capital. If we listen to Manuel we will see our currency reserves decline, and our resources spent on beans, perhaps not the best way to develop our growing nation. We could certainly maintain these subsidies for a while, but we cannot afford them indefinitely. We're between a rock and a hard place, what should we choose?

Give up on the price controls. We can try some other form of social program to help the poor later on.

Guarantee a "fair" price.  Money in the bank won't help if there are rioters in the street.

A market price is a fair price.
