I don't think anybody knew what the explosion was.
Indeed, the explosion need not to have been a ground to orbit weapon system. It might have been a bomb, or other form of sabotage.

I would also have thought the craft would have some kind of fire fighting capabilities. Ah well. We fire a few more shots around the place, board a shuttle, and coast out, mission is done and they've taken one to the teeth.
That's the problem with chlorine Tri-Fluoride. You can not extinguish it. Once it gets going, it combusts everything. It reacts explosively with water, lights common fire retardants up, is an Oxidizing agent (therefore vacuum doesn't work) and create poisonous gasses and acids while it's doing that.

The only way to stop a chlorine trifluoride fire is to wait.

And my weapons are a bunch of guns, a missile, and a nonlethal deterrence system. Not much to look up (except maybe "seismic missile").

I think he knew what it was, considering someone gave a link for it, I think he just didn't think through what might happen if he shot the elevator while we're trying to make them surrender. Aka now that they cannot escape, why the fuck would they surrender, especially if we're killing people who're their friends and coworkers, or at least responsibiltiesa.

I looked up most everything, if only to be sure of what it all did. I had never heard of electrolasers, for instance, and I would have assumed HESH rounds are just regular explosives if I didn't look them up and found out that they are very effective against buildings rather than tanks.

My thought is this: if they can get reinforcements, they would, since there's a lot more of them than us. We'd have a time limit anyway before the lifts started disgorging enemy reinforcements in numbers we couldn't match.

Our aim is to mess their shit up as thoroughly as possible, right? Blocking off reinforcements is probably a part of that, especially if by the time we leave the hold is full of poisonous acid. Those present will try to leave via shuttle - something they'd try to be doing anyway. This way, at least, there's more likely to be more shuttles left over, because there's no more people coming and lots of those present are now dead.

I'll be honest: no, i didn't research my weapons, mainly because I rolled for them and called it a day. So the absolute murdevastation they caused is, I will admit, a slight surprise. My turn wasn't the last to be posted though: there was plenty of time for others to raise issues in the OOC.

Hey, I know that I haven't been posting much, and unfortunately I'll be posting even less in the coming days as I'll pretty much be dropping off of the forums for a bit. Don't halt the game for me, as I don't know how long I'll be and it'll definitely kill the game. Just... I dunno, put Kaoru on autopilot I guess. I don't care too much, sorry.
