Normally if Kiren decided that he doesn't like a team contract, he explains his reasoning to the team, if they are in combat then finishes the combat with them, and then leaves the group.

It's basically point-defense. You shoot missiles with lasers.

Don't forget to roll for MW of the Laser. Caliber/10.

Kiren would explain after the combat or in a calm period if we are defending something, not midcombat.

Although that would be hilarious and now if we get into that situation, I feel like making that kind of interaction canon.

I imagine him firing literally every weapon on the mech and probably throwing something at the cockpit window as well when he talks about the jet plane, by the way(and missing, of course). I imagine it had been harassing them and just generally being annoying for hours or weeks by that point. Probably did a fly-by next to Violet Night's optics while flipping the bird, too.

Also, updated sheet with proper pronouns for traits, a mech description, etc.

Alrighty, edited my mecha. Now features grenade projectors instead of an ejection seat (which probably seals my doom) and the Main laser has a nice 8.9MW of power.
According to wikipedia, electro-lasers can disable or destroy electronic devices. Might come in handy.

LIGHTNING GUNS ARE AWESOME BRAH

But I don't think anyone has an actual normal laser. Plenty of electrolasers, no lasers.

I was thinking about a normal laser, but I wasn't sure just how powerful or useful it would be. I mean, most potential military uses of lasers has them doing what the APS does: shoot down missiles. For a main weapon laser, are we talking something powerful enough to destroy another mecha or just burn infantry?

The laser range on a power of 1-10 MW.
The strongest military laser today is around 1 MW, while many average only around 100 Kw.

Now, your lasers are thus more powerfull, and they fire much longer bursts. A 10 MW laser will penetrate most armor.

Speaking of which, all these lasers are chemical. So they should have ammunition. Might rebalance that actually.


As for the Gauss gun, currently it's noted as a weapon that fires heavy slugs at supersonic speeds. It will pierce the armor of most things it hit, and if it doesn't, it's will knock them back a few meters and ensure their armor is utterly broken.

I can change it to being a supersonic version of a machine gun, but that will reduce it's impact quite a bit.



Now, onto Kevan. There are things I'm willing to accept, both you having a self destruct trigger (which sadly, due to the nature of a Nuclear engine, will do little more than FUBAR your mech. Nuclear reactor =/= Nuclear bomb, after all), and the UGV system  that works using a chip inserted in your brain. (Which you know, would explain a lot).

That does however mean that if you're ever find yourself separated by something that would block radio signals, including being more than a kilometer or something away, that your mech will self destruct. (brain based radio transmission has terrible range. Something to do with not boiling brain cells.)

On a side note, you guys do know that you are going to be destroying a mercantile vessel, right? And that your job is to trash the hangar bay. (Also known as the place where, hypothetically, the evacuation shuttles would be located.)

I have a series of reasons why they're utilizing you guys though. Mostly them being quite desperate.
