Yeah, logical fallacy, I know, I wrote that fully knowing that it was.

But the thing is any amount of ammo stored is going to be arbitrary. Think of it like this: I have 5 salvos of my main weapon before I'm out and 3 of my gatling (assuming 400rpm is equivalent to 400 shots per round). With restocking between missions, and you fire a single round every turn, you have to go for twenty turns to run out ammunition for your gauss. I don't think missions are going to last quite that long.

----

The right to just leave a mission whenever he feels like it? Really? I sure as hell wouldn't hire him if he might just change his mind in the middle and leave. Doesn't help I've been partially refunded if I needed that dam destroyed but he stopped so it wouldn't hurt the pandas.

A. Pretty sure 1 round isn't a minute
B. Your main weapon is also pretty fuckin' huge and uber-destructive, plus you have a laser
C. I fire like 3 round-bursts, minimum. I figure the whole 'you can fire multiple times in a round' is when I decide to go full auto in this shit.

Just sayin'. Yeah, it's going to be arbitrary, but it can be better arbitrary. Like 64 or something. 64 is a good number.

Gig, they get a list of things he won't do before the contract is signed, they are on his contract, if they try making him do those, he will leave mid contract.

There is waitlist

>Also, still mary sue-esque bullshit excuse, since unless he's got really dumb employers(who shouldn't have managed to live long enough/amass enough money to hire someone with Kiren's supposed skills), they wouldn't ask him/hire him to do stuff he specifically said beforehand that he wouldn't do.

Really? You think a round ball is better for being accurate and penetrating than a bullet-shape?
And would you rather have a 1/2 oz. piece of metal flying at your opponent at mach 7, or a 28 oz. sharpened piece of metal flying at your opponent at mach 7?
Better? No. Sufficient? Yes. Plausible? Probably.
Depends on the circumstances. Alone? Ate, the latter. But would you rather have an attack dog or an attack elephant?

Not all employers are particularly smart RG.

Also Kiren is quite possibly bluffing when it comes to the deadman switch. Or he could legitimately have one. Or he could simply believe he has one. He is Not stable.

I'd rather have an attack oliphaunt, or an attack t-rex. Would you rather have an attack weasel, or an attack dog?

Lucen does not like working with unstable people.

It makes her understandably nervous.

Makes sense. But he is predictably unstable, you just haven't figured it out yet.

They were attacking military targets, then suddenly brought up a list of orphanages to attack?

What.

What.

I'm sorry, but was he working for Evil Morons Inc. or something? So not only did they suddenly decide that orphanages were an effective use of a giant warmech, they ignored the parts were he explicitly stated he wouldn't do that beforehand. Not just one, either. Plural.

Also, why would they hire him, if he might have a heart attack or something and kill all of them? It's something a decent employer would know, and when it gets to hiring supposedly top end mercenaries, they are all decent employers, or they don't get that high in the game.

Generally when you have reasonable targets and then get a sudden shift to nonsense targets when working for a paramilitary organization, it's because of a "change" in management to someone not remotely sane in any way whatsoever.

Also Kiren normally doesn't talk about the deadman switch. He brought it up cause Lucan drew a knife on him.
