The rain and wind pours through the sky, surrounding the Gate in a large puddle of dark water.
Suddenly, a crashing sound pierces the entire sky and Ashley barely has time to perceive the white streak of lightning coarsing through the air - and close. The entire area flashes white as a bolt of lightning strikes Ashley in the back.

Kyle pokes his head out of the hatch to the lab.

Ashley, instead, would have caught the bolt with her blade, absorbing the energy.

"I don't really have any decor, and the last cooking device I operated was a pot over a fire, but the room is welcome. Thank you."

Garrett stomach rumbles.

The bolt strikes the very tip of her blade, the electrical energy coursing through it. The blade shakes so hard that Ashley drops it.
