Kaotaro's eyes flicker from Kaiser to his face to her feet and back again, words trailing off as she tries to figure out how to respond, her mind filled with memories of blood on chrome, of a terrible, disastrous hope that ate at you even while it taunted, and the despair of freedom mingled with the joy of escape.

Kaiser uneasily looks around at the small crowd gathered around them.

"C-can we talk a-about it... s-somewhere else? With less p-people?"

Kaota looks around and glares at the people surrounding them. They start to drift away abruptly, uncomfortable now that they'd been 'caught' staring.

"...like where?" she asked, settling back into the part-amazed, part-unbelieving, and part-scared posture the apparent boy had taken up.

Kaiser continues ignoring him, and throws a few hundred dollars at a cashier in return for the cookies.

Kaotaro takes a step back involuntarily, eyes widening. She tries to turn it into just a step towards outside, towards privacy, but the reaction was obvious. Was it just the idea of being in a private place, where no one could hear him scream, Kaiser might wonder, or the idea of being near him?

"I....I just don't get it. Why are you here? Why here? Why did you come back? You weren't...you weren't supposed to come back..."

The crowd has reassembled, some recognising Kaiser from the news. He isn't exactly happy.
