"Technology always goes wrong. So does magic, of course, but at least it only goes wrong when some nob's been screwing with it. 'Indefinitely'. How expensive is it to keep something like that running, exactly? The power requirements gotta be pretty stiff, if it's a full on castle."

"Not at all. Got some generators in there and they're more than enough. Trust me."

Garrett, after shaking his head at Barti, turns back to Ashley.

"I have only my possessions, so I beg you for a meal and a room, otherwise I will go locate an elder dragon, and report my return."

"Generators need fuel, parts break down, especially fancy parts, engineers cost money to hire, transportation on and off it costs money...how do you pay for the bloody thing?"

"I'll make you some food. There's plenty of rooms upstairs."

Leth shook his head slowly, sighing.

"Whatever. Long as it don't crash where I'm standing, I don't really care."

Garrett is betrayed by his growling stomach.

Ashley goes off to cook dinner for everyone. Of course, with her own groceries. No need to use the Ryan's.

Garrett waits patiently on his chair, looking at weird 21st century things in the meantime.


Ashley accidentally stands on Kaiser, who is sleeping on the kitchen floor for reasons unknown.

Ashley teleports him to a bed, then continues to cook.

Kaiser wakes up and discovers he is in a bed, but is too comfortable to move, so he goes back to sleep.


Garrett tries to find the house's fireplace.

Ashley brings Garrett some thick soup and bread. With it, a glass of water.
