The spot the rune was is gone. Completely. Alucard would feel confusion as the spot begins to slowly regenerate, the rune reappearing with the wall it was inscribed on.

Half of the rune is readable: Regeneration. This part is in greek. The other half of the rune is not Greek in nature.

The clean-up work from after the Eternal Twilight is going well. Not much needs to be done, just some car wrecks and rubble left to be hauled out of the area, as well as some rebuilding to be completed, and the city might've been ready in a month.

Might've been. As Bartimaeus's emotions flared, someone emotionally attached to him reawakened. A familiar black dome rematerialised over the city, with shadow wraiths rephasing into existence. SERT forces are utterly surprised and slaughtered, the few survivors holding the line inside fortified anti-magic areas. In the centre of it all, a giant shadow demon phases back into existence.

Shade has returned.

Regeneration can be countered with decay. Void magic can decay.
Alucard writes a void magic rune on a rock and places it into his palm and touching the other rune with it while it is activated.

Somewhere in the Runic Matrix a third rune activates destroying Alucards rune. Alucard quickly realizes that the Runes are being protected by another rune.
