"No... I fear she may soon though..."

"Sh-shes doing well..." Selina be unnerved more by talking cat Bart on her lap.

"Oh. What happened? What did she do?"

 "Cool. What, are you scared of shapeshifters or something?"

Dalia is tactful as ever. "Oh. That kinda makes you a jerk you know, breaking up with your sick girlfriend. Even if it was five years since you last saw each other. You should at least have done it before then."

The cat shrugs.
 "What's the problem with that?"

Kaiser can't sleep well with the sand, and the waves, and the crab pinching his face present. Waving it away, he juts himself up, sending armies of soldier crabs scuttling to their burrows. After rinsing himself in the ocean, Kaiser ventures inland towards the beach fire, because he can smell food.
