Kaiser emerges from his stupor, and stumbles into the living room, sitting down on the couch.

"Ouch."

"Then what are you interested in receiving?"
Ashley takes a seat.
"What are you plotting, Barti?"

"I desire... sustenance."
She appears offended.
 "Me, plotting? You wound me, Isaac."

"In the form of what?"
Isaac rolls his eyes.
"What dramatics..."

"I want to eat life."
"Can a girl at least try and be nice and get a nice response?"

Dalia stays in the hallway, leaning against the wall with her shoulders hunched up and her arms crossed. From time to time she wipes at her eyes, and her fingers come back wet. As Kaiser leaves the workshop she opens her mouth as if to say something, but nothing comes out. Eventually she composes herself a bit more and mumbles, "Are you done now?"

Kaiser looks deflated. Injured, too, but that's to be expected.

"...Yeah. Are you okay?"

Dalia stares at the floor in sullen silence for several moments, and then mumbles, "No... Osmodius told me a bunch of stuff about me and..." After a moment's pause she clams up, "I don't want to talk about it."

"Well, you obviously want something specific... Or do you just wish to feast on some animal?"
"Aren't all void beings genderless?"

Renfield nods.
"Oh, heavens no. We do have genders, though perhaps not biologically. Right now however, I am biologically female."

"Alright."
Tobias sends a shadow to fetch a sheep.
"Well, you're still male in my eyes, Bartimæus."

"Burning out the eyes means their souls were most likely burned out of them too. The people most likely to have that kind of power are the two high priests."

"See, already the case is half closed, we have two suspects from the group that would be able to do what has been done, and various suspects with a motive, and those two groups even overlap. Of course there is a chance that one high priest wanted to frame the other, however the simple fact that this case has not been solved yet makes this seem unlikely. Hmm, how are the chances that someone besides the high priests could have this ability?"

After the sheep is delivered, Renfield tosses the key and floats off with the animals.
"Then get your eyes checked."

For a moment Titus thought,
"My father could have that kind of power, though it doesn't make sense that he would kill them. I don't know much about Illian's magic so it is a possibility that she is keeping that ability a secret, I doubt it though. If someone formed a contract with Salim, she could probably grant them that power. A contract such as that is rare though, one hasn't been formed in decades and the details of the contract usually prevent the guardian from using magic violently against people unless it is to protect the person who made the contract. Powers like that would still be affected by the anti-magic field anyway. "
