Isaac blankly stares at Barti.

"What is this?"
Bartimaeus hands Isaac the sword he found in the Shadowlands.

"Yes, yes, you and two dozen other Fae just have to see the Queen. Names, please."

He seems bored and rather stressed.

 "Dr. Alucard Fau- er, Vladimir."

"Ashley Davis, Queen of the Void."
"It's a sword...? Is this a trick question?"
Isaac takes hold of it.
"Oh. I see what you're asking now... Give me a few minutes."
He makes the sword float with some minuscule projections, and continues to walk, as a black aura appears around the sword.

Bartimaeus nods and patiently waits.

"Right, well... This is what it does."
+5 Damage, -4 to Skill. Whenever an enemy is struck, an aura surrounds them. 2 turns later, a 40 stat pool shadow appears, that has locked 0 STR, and 15 MAG. (The rest is up to the user.)

"Cool. Can you make it better?"

Titus sighed,
"I am not familiar with your ways but I assume that if someone in a position of power here was killed it would draw more attention than just some average worker."

The details of the murder were there in full, the two victims were found together in their room at around midnight. The person who reported the murder and the one who was the first find the body was Titus, he reported quickly to the palace guard and the room was quickly blocked off from outsider influence. The bodies themselves were strange, the wounds were regular and there were signs of a struggle. Their eyes however were burned from their sockets, this led the palace guard to immediately suspect magic involvement.

The murder investigation itself was apparently making good progress, one day however it seemed to simply stop. There was no explanation for this and the order seemed to come from the King himself. 

The list of people who had access to the rooms was quite large, including a variety of servants. Due to the magic involvement of the case however most of the suspects were narrowed down to the people on the anti magic approval list. This included Titus, the princes themselves, a high priest of Salim named Vierus Lamora, the high priest of another faith whose god was not listed named Ranil Silante, the captain of the palace guard Oswald Viente, the king himself Jeanis Elariel, the general  named Sabitha Gallant, the head spy Illian Reinsworth, the queen Sharon Elariel and the princess Karis Elariel. One thing that would stand out here was that Ranil's name was circled by someone.

The people who can whitelist people on the anti magic field seem to be limited to the royal family and the captain of the palace guard.

The list of witnesses involved mostly servants and there testimonies were mostly the same, they had seen the princes go up to the older brother's room. There they had dismissed the guards following them and commanded every servant to leave them alone until the morning. Some reported seeing a figure heading out towards the rooms but assuming it to be just a servant or one of the important people in the palace paid no attention to it.

There was no murder weapon found and nothing was missing from the scene, this seemed to bring the suspicion that the murderer had brought their own weapon.

It seemed to be that there were a variety of motives for the main suspects of the case, the high priest of the unknown god had been scrambling for more power recently and murdering two of the princes of the kingdom would be a perfect way to bring himself closer to the throne. Vierus had been warning the king of a great catastrophe involving the royal family recently and it is slightly suspected that he might of killed the princes to make Jeanis closer to him. Titus and Karis had a variety of motives, down to small arguments and the obvious motives of killing of to make them closer to seizing the throne. It seems slightly out of place on Titus' part however due to the fact that he was ahead of them succession wise anyway. The captain of the guard had never liked the two princes very much, he was a steadfast traditionalist and the new princes had been saying ideas that were not approved of by the old society.

The general seemed to lack a motive entirely, though there may have been private matters that they were unaware of. The head spy seemed to lack a motive as well but with how well he kept his information it seemed that even if there was a motive it was unlikely anyway was going to find it.

The queen and the king seemed to lack motives as well, the only hint of motive being the princes new ideas. Neither of them had seemed to pay much attention to them however and just brushed them off as the folly of youth.

Isaac tilts the sword in his hand, inspecting the edge.

"Oh well.. can you make stuff, too?"

"Depends on what you want."
