Tobias moves easily 10 stories downward, before a huge hall opens itself in front of him. Dozens of assembly lines, churning out one ICARUS units after the other, again and again. Hard to say for how long this operation has been running, but this line could probably produce up to 100 units a day. But what is much more concerning is what surrounds the hall. Hundreds of humans in glass-prisons, too weak to move. Occasionaly an ICARUS unit would go in, pick up a dead human, and toss it into an incinerator. It takes a while to figure out the reason for this, but Tobias eyes follow a set of blue glowing wires that is coming from the prison to a chamber at the end of the assembly lines. While the rest of the assembly line looks very sterile and on point, this chamber contains a crude summoning circle. Each Icarus unit is moved through here...and after a while, starts moving.
This is a summoning battery. Forcefully extracting mana from humans, to channel the summoning of an Agribaal, using a pre-drawn summoning circle. This is a whole new kind of magi-tech...
The seven move towards the north of the hall, where a train is waiting, filling one by one with ICARUS units. There is no tunnel or exit for the train to go to however. At the head of the train, a particularly
sleek designed Unit, with a cranial headpiece that would resemble a kind of robo-shamanistic feather-hat, is staring at a panel.
"Number 05 and number 01 are damaged. You will be punished."The seven gulp...even machines know fear..sometimes.
