"Icarus please..." she let out a sigh as she watched Icarus leave, she turned back to James as he spoke "I... I would." she hesitated "Could you... you please apologise to her though, you don't have to approve of the binding but just say sorry for calling her soul not normal. It's... It's a soft spot for her and I want the two of you to get along"

Bartimaeus disappears for a moment and reappears with Alucard in his hand, dropping him on the ground by his shirt collar.

He pulls out the golden locket with the old picture of her 9-year old self, opening it and giving it to her. His eyes are fixated to the ground as his open palm extends out to her, with the locket set on top of it.
