The others are creatures that used to be Creation, who have been throw into the soul mill and are just corrupted Creation souls... That's the gist of it, at least."

"Hilda's a void spirit in a creation body. Not exactly the same."

them,"Nevermind...Star, can you scan the body?"

"Of course, Master." The Device lit up as it began scanning the deceased lifeform.

"Well, I just meant a park, any park...they're nice, you know? Plus, I don't really want to wait for another three hours to get somewhere..."

Noire's Scan shows the same things that Ashley learned, with one difference: The wound wasn't made with a weapon, but was caused by the matter making up the missing area being... consumed...
Linda's hunch proves correct as a black blur speeds directly over head and lands on a building adjoining the one she is on. In a blink of an eye, the shadow disappears, removing a large section of the building with it. It's not destroyed, just missing, almost like it was cleanly cut away and then disintegrated.

Bartimaeus would be able to detect a very destructive portal quickly appear and disappear. It is similar in nature to Alucard's portals, but far more unstable.

The target Linda was tracking is gone now, having run away when the shadow appeared.
