Ashley simply nods. She has a thousand-yard stare into the distance.

Sen frowns again, "Huh, I figured she would want to watch the agony and pain you would inevitably experience.Oh well. Now where was I, oh yes: The passage of Night, chapter 3- And thus we begin the Daemon's Requiem..." Sen begins to read aloud from the book, the dark magic beginning it's work as the clouds above begin to darken and thunder begins to resound.

"Holy hit, you killed an Afr-" he says and then stops, looking at the Gatekeeper.
"oh."
Slicer is constantly struggling in the paper binds.

"She's alive."
Bits of marble occasionally fall from the arch of the gate.

Bartimaeus turns into a random human woman and nods.
   "Maybe you can, uh, regrow the forest? Alice might be able to do something.. maybe, or hire a plant mage..."

"The land is dead, as if scorched by dragonfire."

Kaotaro is on the couch, presumably, waiting for Kaiser to return. Or something.


Spensir grimaces, getting knocked back a few paces, but he continues concentrating, the pain the magic took on him, accelerating his aging process to become stronger and faster, less, he knew, than that it would prevent from this bloody totems. Fuck that shit, he though to himself.

"Fine then. You'll be -urgh- first."

Finish casting Vital Surge, and if Franziska steals it I'm calling so much bullshit

"Life grows in the most barren of places you know," she says as she conjures what appears to be a seed in her hand and plants it in the soil. It quickly grows to a flower.

Sen summons four more Succubi, who take position around Slicer. Sen and the Succubi sisters positions form a pentagram on the ground. Sen continues to read from the book, "Darkness beckons the corrupted soul, and five mark the desecrated blood." Red lines begin to appear in between the succubi and Sen as they form a pentagram circle around Slicer. The succubi begin to pour their mana into Slicer, further spreading the demonic blood in his body. Sen is also pouring mana into Slicer, though she is using the mana from the Succubus acting as her catalyst.

Kaiser slides over to the couch.

"Ah, d-do you need s-something, K-Kaotaro?"

The flower quickly dies.

Ashley just sighs.
"Shouldn't you be with the others?"

He yells out in defiance, thrashing about.
Bartimaeus touches the flower and it glows blue-green as she reabsorbs it.
  "Pfft, the others are fine. They can handle a Witch and a Spellthief."

"Sounds like you should be helping them."

"Too busy helping Alucard. Blind bastard can't even walk right."
