"Just because he can build cool stuff doesn't mean that I have to like him. As for him being a creep, he really is. He's got tentacles growing out of his back, and they're independent of his mind or something like that. Um... Oh, he calls the thing that cleans his castle Maid-Chan. And he built a robotic copy of someone without their permission. And it was a girl too, though apparently he's changing it to look like himself. And some other stuff I can't remember off the top of my head too. He's a creep, okay?"

"...Point taken and approved. I see where you're coming from now. Don't call me a creep if I take up tinkering from him though."
Isaac laughs.

[USEC_OFFICER]

"I won't. Unless you make your own Maid-Chan." Dalia laughs too.

[Projeck37]

"Nah. I'm more about useful things, like weapons." Isaac shrugs. Dalia might just now notice he has a silver gauntlet with an owl engraved into it, on his right hand.

[USEC_OFFICER]

"Like that thing around your hand?" she asks, pointing to his gauntlet.

[Projeck37]

"This thing? I don't know what it does really. Family heirloom as far as I know."

[USEC_OFFICER]

"Oh. It doesn't do anything? No cool magic powers or something? Just a glove with an owl on it?"

[Projeck37]

"My father told me it'd prove useful whenever I need it most... So we'll see."

"Yeah, I'd hope so. I kinda wonder where your father got it from, you know? Or your grandfather or whatever. How it came into your family."

"He said it was my mother's parting gift for me... I never actually met my mother now that I think about it."

[USEC_OFFICER]

"Oh. Okay... Can I ask what happened to her? Or is that still sorta...?"

"Apparently she left a couple weeks after I was born. According to my dad, it was important for whatever reason. No hard feelings, really."

[USEC_OFFICER]

"Oh. Um... Yeah. It could definitely be worse. I'm sure you'll get to meet her again eventually." Dalia shrugs slightly.

"Hopefully. So yeah, that's my family."

[USEC_OFFICER]

"Yeah. It sounds much better than mine."
