Mary investigates the corpses of the soldiers who were killed before they could teleport, checking their demographics, personal items and equipment.

Most of the corpses have undergone severe trauma, and some are little more than shredded meat. However, they were all wearing the same black infantry armor and tactical helmets.

Do they carry anything that isn't a piece of equipment? What equipment do they have?
Mary glances inside a helmet, though not putting it on though.

They seem to lack any sort of personal effects or items designating their allegiance. Apart from the armor and a standard sidearm, a 1911 handgun, one of them seems to own a mangled piece of something metallic.

Using her choker's enchantment, Mary checks, just to be sure, whether or not the metallic object is above her healing threshold.

Just over. Only just.

[Empiricist]

Checking to ensure that she was above her own healing threshold, she casts Sacrificial Intervention upon it, calling a pillar of healing light down upon it.

"I have no idea what happened Hilda. Probably a self-preservation shut-down, I always thought your heat ventilation looks lacking."


Walpurga, having tended to her wounds, goes looking for Alucard

It reforms into a little ball of a dark silvery metal, with a hole in the middle supposedly fitting something which is no longer present.

Placing the sphere into her bag along with all the firearms, helmets and armor, Mary stands over the corpses and softly mutters "O God the Father, fountain and source of all blessings, we give thanks that You have kept our brothers and sisters in the faith and have taken them to Yourself. Comfort us with your holy Word and give us strength that when our last hour comes we may peacefully fall asleep in You; through Jesus Christ our Lord." She then proceeds to walk off towards someone she fought alongside.

Walpurga notes that Alucard is no longer in the area - or even in Northsdale. Eventually she finds him sitting behind his desk in his workshop by the Gate, a plethora of papers containing diagrams and writing set about around him. Countless theories and enigmas, many diagrams and drawings - pure science. One sheet of paper depicts three chariots flying throughout the air, with arrows and annotations appropiately drawn.
