Yeah, The void lore I remember was a single dude named Void who controlled void. Inside of void were eldritch horrors, and they were not able to get into Creation unless Void let them, in most cases he didn't. Then We had Bartimaeus exist and spawn pocket planes inside of Void called Other-worlds. Then came the sudden usurpation of Void lore that made it into Void is governed by 12 sultans bent on eradicating creation. Da hell approved that anyways?

I don't even remember the lore keepers (Me and... who else again?) being informed of the entire thing. It just suddenly was.

The Sultanes I believe, were introduced in v2. Prior to the lorekeepers.

Just checked the v2 OOC.
Twi and USEC managed lore, they were the people checking lore.
Elf, Ragnarok and KJ were considered lore experts, they were the people to ask about current lore.
Projeck and PN were co-GMs who helped run the game.

According to a quick search, first mention of plot/lore reviewing predated the first mention of the term "sultane" in the OOC and IC. No instances of "sultan" or "sultanate" were found. Of course, search isn't always reliable.

I dunno, I thought Akroma said that the sultanes were just a bunch of assholes living on the fringes and everyone else including Void just sat around not giving a fuck.

I mean, if they usurped the eponymous entity, you'd think that they'd be much more powerful and if Ragnarok's lore was just replaced, then Ashley shouldn't exist, so I'd imagine it would be like the above.

Well, it IS a game that has had three different GMs, only one of the original players remaining, lore run by about ten different people with different views about the game, the lore, the degree of realism and influences all whilst keeping their own information mostly secret, five different combat systems and a propensity to spontaneously combust into something just shy of a flamewar in a manner that drowns out important information and proposals.

I think half the people just forgot about it. Also there were complaints back then, the exact same complaints which were then addressed, which people then forgot about. Which from my experience with collaborative settings, does indeed happen without some sort of centralized documentation.

Wasn't that what Everything: Gaiden, New Dawn Academy and Dissociation were meant to be?
