Um... what are you smoking? Mana is pretty much meaningless. You get it back at the end of fights and no one ever runs out of it fast enough for it to matter. The paperstock is actually the weaker of the two since Sen runs out of it so quickly and then has to waste a turn just to refill it. If anything I like the paper stock more than mana.

the thing is still that you can refill it. Also at least Icarus routinely runs out of mana, or close to. This is the downside of her combat stats being significantly higher than those who put a lot of points into mana. Kyle is pretty much mana independant, but casters like Sen, especialy Sen, will find the mana cost inhibitive. Sen only has 24 mana, if the paper dragon costs 8-10 mana, thats a lot. It means Sen will later have to spend a turn to summon a succubus (if she still has the mana to do this in the first place) and consume it to gain some extra mana to cast with (a mechanic I severly dislike, as it renders mana obsolete, as well as the limitation that Sen having all the magic is being balanced by it doing only half damage - which is also canceled by consuming a succubus, but lets not get into that)

I mean the spell deals at *minimum* as much damage as what others deal at maximum. It should drain Sen significantly. 50% of her paper and 10 mana seems like a proper justification to this significant damage increase.

So she can get more mana by using mana and wasting two turns. That's a pretty fair trade in my opinion. But you never cared about that did you?

I think it only takes 1 turn, and can also be done in advance, but I said lets not get into that. I said I dislike the mechanic, not that I want it to be changed or it even needs to.

I am just saying that Sen has a low mana pool, and the paper dragon having big mana cost is a significant drawback

so it deals about 12 damage less, in that case mana cost should go down by 2-4.

Also, consider this, how easy is it for GMs to do the calculations? Because I am not interested in doing all that when before I could do some simple rolls and adition before.

I'd consider the calculations easy. And a GM would only have to do it once per fight.

Eh, so is a bunch of damage being dropped randomly. Odds are, Sanure won't spam it each fight, in every plot. I trust him enough not to do so, as well.
