since Projeck asked for balance ideas:

I did offer the alternative as "deals major damage", as in it deals damage like a normal spell. Since Paper-Stock is indeed a limited resource, I'd be fine if the 75% damage increase becomes something like 75%+x% x being the paper used.

If Sanure still wants a 500% damage increase, that is really significant , compare to Icarus 300% damage increase on Skysplitter. So we would have to probably wait for level 5, and on that level give Sen a perk that includes a limit break condition. What this kinda condition would be, I dunno, but the point is that at least on level 5, you should not be able to activate that stuff at-will, but only when something suitably important happens, that is also somewhat unlikely, else it would entirely negate the dramatic impact of that huge attack.

Continuing on from IC thread it really should be more balanced.

I have a couple of suggestions for this.
Firstly add a clause that even if it fails she is not allowed to do it for the rest of the combat, I think this was your intention anyway so this should be fair.
Secondly maybe make it seal off all of her paper magic for the rest of the combat? That would make it a risky or finisher move.
Thirdly maybe tone down the damage so it's just 2dx instead, with x being half of the paper stock used.

I'm not saying all of these have to be implemented but these are some suggestions to tone it down.

doing 500% damage on an attack with a rare, difficult condition once per plot is more broken than just doing that every fight at-will?

also, Icarus is the only one level 5 yet, people are entirely free to do similar things with their characters, same with the melee manouvers. I ecnouraged people ages ago to think of various manouvers, problem is few ever did. I would be more than happy if people added variety to their non-magical combat with manouvers, and dramatic moments with limit breaks. By all means folks, don't hold back.


anyway, I made suggestions to balance the paper-dragon, and if it's not a limit-break once per plot super rare and hard to achieve attack, I see no justification for 500% damage. My other suggestion of 75% +x% still stands, though I feel Sanure is not listening to me.

Projec, any ideas to balance the dragon?

Well, my first idea would probably be limit to once per plot. Note for Sanure: just an idea, for if we don't nerf the damage below say, 100 damage at max.

Now for the damage, maybe dMAG+60%+dX+(X/2)%
Then to balance that damage, perhaps raise the TN by 2 or 3, and increasing the mana cost. The only reason why it'd be classified as a Big spell, is the +60% to the damage.
Also, keep in mind I'm not able to.plug in numbers at the moment to check how balanced that is in aspect to Sen. Damn school...

that would be a d18 + 12 + d50 +25

so 39-105 damage.

still significantly higher than the normal, well, d18+12, which is a 13-30 damage attack. It's definetly a nerf though, and if it is really once per combat, I would feel less compelled to call it broken. It's still significantly higher than it should be. The thing is however, paper-abilities use no mana, only paperstock, so in the end it is basicaly for free. Maybe add a 8-10 mana cost to it, so it has at least *some* downside to being used. Else there is little reason not to use it like first thing every combat. Compare it to some melee manouvers Icarus does. They all deal either a little damage to her, or cost mana, to justify the increase in damage. Else it would just be a free +damage.

The dragon costing a high amount of mana means that should it be dodged, Sen is in a problematic spot. Unlike paper, mana can not be reclaimed.
