Because Strength is pretty useless right now, compared to just boosting Magic to huge levels instead.

Still think Strength should give a point of HP.

Well... Yeah. That's pretty true. Still, it's better than v2 at least, even if it needs a couple more tweaks here and there.

Um... Strength is used for every non-magical attack. I don't know what you're smoking but that's a lot.

Also, boohoo, Kyle's level 2. And he's been around since the start. I hardly think you have a right to complain.
Kyle's level 2 because you haven't been keeping track of EXP, not because he hasn't been participating.

Also, let me put it this way.

20 Strength, +5 weapon: Avg damage: 15.5 before Damage Reduction.
20 Magic, Large Spells: Avg damage: 22.5 before Damage Reduction.

It only gets worse the higher your stat total.

Yeah but we're already at the level at which Magic is better. Which was my point. And Warriors aren't actually that much tougher than Wizards.

...yeah, I'm liking the sound of strength giving +1 health per point.

Although, in my personal opinion, I'd like to make gun damage dependant off Skill, as opposed to strength.

The problem with that is that gunslingers would gain accuracy and damage by investing in one stat, while melee dudes need to spread their points out.

Though if strength increases HP by 1 point, then it wouldn't be as much of a problem. Melee guys would be tanks, while gunslingers would be DPS... Definitely not the worse idea, especially since physical attacks need some kind of buff. Also, would archery/similar things be based off of strength or skill if we go this route?

I think that might makes sense, too, but it makes Skill stupendously good for those people, especially when using Skilled weapons (I personally think of Sniper Rifles and the like as doing extra damage based on how much the skill roll beat the speed roll, to simulate crit/headshots).

Archery and shit would be a combo of all three because if those aren't either explodey or magic arrows they ain't doin' shit

Skill weapons would provide a big boon of physical DPS, which is something the muggles need. I'd probably make archery just skill, for simplicities' sake.

On another note, I was going to suggest that every 4 or 5 points of DEF or RES gives a flat +1 to defense or resistance, as it kinda needs a buff.

I think that, actually, what might also help is this (maybe too complicated, but pick and choose whatcha like)

For Def/Res, +1 DR against Phys/Mag for every 4 points in it beyond 6.
For Health, +1 HP regened every turn for every 6 points in it beyond 6.
For Strength, +1 HP per point, and +1 to hit with melee attacks per 4 points beyond 6.
For Speed, +1 to dodge attacks for every 4 points beyond 6.
For Skill, +1 to damage(still go off strength for base damage) with ranged attacks per 4 points beyond 6.
For Mana, +1 MP regened every turn for every 6 points in it beyond 6.
For Magic, +1 to TN rolls for every 4 points in it beyond 6.

Whatcha think?

On Regen: No, that would drag fights out.
On Magic: You want -1 and definently not, to easy to abuse.
On +1 to hit and dodge: Slow the rate down. Maybe every six points including the sixth one.

TN's are pretty much a joke, anyways. I'd just boost magic level requirement for the more powerful spells, or add lower tier intervals between the spells we have already, and make the more powerful spells less accessible.

Regen? Hell no. Awesome for the PCs, fucking annoying on enemy bosses.

Yay for dodge bonuses, but take kj's advice.

It would be dumb if it happened a lot. But a grand master sage would also be more likely to roll enough so that he crushes the roll nine times out of ten.

Why not just have 1 point of strength account for a 2 damage role? That makes Strength important (And maybe a little abusable) by having it's max damage equal to STR*2. Weapons would just add to the total role, so a +5 weapon used by a person with 20 strength would make the roll a 1d45 for an average of 22 damage.

So now this:
