No-one's needed to because on-the-field technomancy has been sufficient thus far, the people here have far less scientific knowledge than those in ER and would likely have to research matters themselves to tinker which consequently results in that option requiring actual work on their part thereby reducing their willingness to explore that option.

also, why do you need an automatic double-damage when you already have the strength to easily suprass any of our defence stats?. You know, this is why weapons give a modifier that increase the damage roll, to ensure the damage is on average moderatly higher than the defence roll. Araceli having a +7 for her sniper rifle being super awesome and voidy is a whole lot less overpowered than just straight up *doubling* your damage roll.

Does no one eeeveeer run any statistics before statting something?

a Double-damage perk on top of 30 base strength is easily worth an additional 40 points of strentgh on average

Also, for fairness sake, I statted the vital surge with +4 to all rolls assuming it would be added to the roll, not the stat. If it is added to the roll, it turns an otherwise useful skill into a really mediocre one.

How does an anti-material sniper-rifle even fire void? Does void have the equivalent to the substances used in antimaterial-rounds? Same thing goes for void-fire, doesn't that mean that there's void-oxygen and that it acts like normal oxygen?

on that note, for the consideration of double damage on 30 strength, and the characters in battle. While reading this, keep in mind that with 60 skill, Araceli will only roll below 15 (more or less a must be for any of us to dodge) 25% of the time, and even then it's still 50/50 (and that is very generously said), so on average there is only a 1/10 chance of Araceli missing


Hilda: likely one-shot, very likely two-shot, guaranteed 3-shot

Alice: possibly one-shot, likely two-shot

Icarus: possibly one-shot, likely two-shot

Bartimaeus: very likely one-shot, guaranteed two-shot

Winry: actually unlikely to be one-shot

Dalia: 50/50 to be one-shot, guaranteed two-shot

Ashley: actually unlikely to be one-shot

Kaiser: possible one-shot, likely two-shot

Spensir: our absolute tankiest character, and as you can see, he is getting 3-shotted

Gareth: actually unlikely to be one-shot

really, you don't just do double-damage lightly.

edit: also keep in mind, everything that is not immediatly one-shot, but takes a shot that takes them low, and then another will be put DEEP into the negative -meaning a very high chance for insta-kills. No chance of stopping any bleeding or giving someone cpr. double-damage flat out kills you. The game was simply not made to support such a damage output

No double damage. As a half/half, she is unaffected by both void and creation affinity attacks.

That phrase was also a polite way of saying shut up before Toady hones down on our asses.

so I guess a big damage modificator for the sniper rifle?


considering kaisers ceasite sword had a +10 damage mod against void (+5 else), I guess the same would go for the void bullets.

phrases like that are thrown around. I'd rather nip potential problems in the bud before anything nasty is said.

Also, is the 5+ or the 10+ the standard? Caesite is only as powerful as it is because it's in it's home dimension, unlike mordite.
